erm yes, i would ask a good friend a ballpark figure of their holiday cost if i was thinking of doing the same trip. I’d have no probably sharing either.

But you’re a disney influencer, right? You’re on their PR list, so it’s a given if youre promoting it.
You're an influencer Beth, you tend to share pricing with followers....you share enough bloody affiliate links.

Surprisingly yes, I would ask a colleague who constantly visits a place I want to go to for a ball park cost and what ways they saved some/knew of deals!
Its just funny how your followers know you are not working, so would be genuinely curious why you went for it!
There are so many videos out there of people breaking down DVC and when the cost is worth it etc

Loads of us at work talk about the cost of holidays as they have kids so want to get as good of a deal in the school holidays. She has some really weird perceptions of what people do or don’t talk about at work
To be fair… you need to work to know what people talk about who do. I mean… three Disney holidays in three months while on maternity leave with no job to go back to is normal… isn’t it 😂 x

Wouldn't ask someone I work with how they afford the holiday - as obviously they have a job alongside me lol so answering my own question.
But... all we talk about is holidays, the one we just went on, the next one we want to go on and yeah the cost of it. It's not a secret and we aren't judgy, we know who has freedom to go whenever etc it's just conversation and passes the day at work. I'd say in more recent years there is a little more openness about spending and saving etc - thanks Martin Lewis!
I mean tell me you ain't worked in an office full time for a long time without telling me Beth because you sound a bit stupid. Good luck getting that 9-5 role and keeping it!!

I think she just never had any friends at work lol.

omg

how is she so full of herself

So did the tour in recent days. 150 points (assuming that’s what they got for the associated benefits) at Riviera (given current exchange) would be £25,000. We didn’t really look into finance so don’t know deals with monthly payments and things. They’re both so reckless!!
Is that per month? Sorry got no idea how these things work

Even that over 4 years doing simple math is over £500 a month. Me and my husband work full time and I could never dream of being a DVC member!

I know nothing about it at all. But what do you get for £500 a month? Is that trips to Disney all included?

They have purchased 'points' which they can then use to book stays in DVC resorts at Disney. However, they will still have to buy park tickets, flights and food AND they have to pay annual dues every year which are in excess of $1,000 dollars.

The 'perk' of buying DVC is that you pay one lump sum and you have your points annually for length of your contract (at Riveria it's until 2070). However, they have more than likely bought on finance and I would question whether such a luxury purchase should ever be financed!

Moral of the story is never by direct!

We paid a total of £17k cash for 160 resale points back in 2020. We were already staying at Deluxe resorts for years, so this was a no brainer for us. It's already paid for itself, and even with Dues for the next 30 years it still costs less than what we were paying.

Never would have done it on finance though!

Agree, we got 200 resale points a few years back for $20,000 (so around £15,000 at today's exchange rate). Financing with Disney is crazy, the interest rate is around 11% I think!

With DVC I presume you can't get deals like free dining plan etc...? Seems like a big miss since its a mainstay of the UK Disney influencer experience (and since she's such a foodie).

Correct, no free dining. However if you've done you're DVC purchase correctly you'd be saving far more money than you would with 'Free' dining.

Spoiler Alert: Free Dining isn't free at all, it's all built into the price you pay for the room.

If you like the more deluxe rooms and the choice of suites etc and are committed to going for the next couple of decades then I think it could be a good spend. My family are considering it. I just really don’t think it should be a priority for Betty and Wet Lettuce Man at this time. But she’s on a mission to make a show for the ‘gram, even if she pretends she’s not
