Glad to see another Poppy Adams fan
I've heard GLP1 hormones can make you violently sick when you eat sweet or greasy items. If she manages to turn her diet around by basically giving herself a food aversion to the crap she normally eats, it might work. My worry would be that she doesn't stick to it.
AmberLynn Reid began taking Ozempic, the weight was coming off as the food noise went, but she quit when all was going well because she psychologically depends on food for pleasure. Without food she has nothing - just like Becky, no friends, a non-existent relationship. Food was the only reliable pleasure in her life and the only thing that wasn't a 'let down'. Without therapy to address why she doesn't have a fulfilling life outside of stuffing her face, she'll never change.
They effect everyone differently. I started in June at 24st. So heavier than Becky (but taller)
I can still eat anything I like (rich, sweet, fatty) with no adverse side effects, but I don't crave it so can make the better decisions and stick to a calorie deficit. I eat normal portions and normal food. I still have an appetite and eat to my hunger.
The turning off of the continual incessant 'food noise' in my head has been nothing short of amazing. I'm no longer thinking about food 24/7. I didn't need therapy I knew how to eat but fighting against a brain that wants the dopamine 'hit' of junk food is so hard. Obviously I didn't realise until now, and I think it's really likely I'll need to take synthetic GLP1 for life
The only interesting thing about ALR was her extreme weight and extreme over eating. Without that I can imagine she was losing money and followers so stopped.
Obviously there are risks but morbid obesity carries far more risks.
I really hope Becky considers it. I'm 44 and wish I'd had had the option 15 yrs ago
