I thought Lyse Doucet on DID was a great listen. Loved her music choices too.

Re Vanessa Feltz, she seemed to stop doing her outfit promotion for a long time but then today her dress was tagged with no mention of whether she purchased it or it was gifted. Last time I looked, she had over 82k followers, yet no one except her boyfriend, family or showbiz friends can comment. Big Ben seems to be the most frequent commenter as well as Allegra, her daughter.

Robert Elms doing two different appearances at the Betsy Trotwood pub, advertised via Danny the Champ insta page. He’s using the same format as his show. Listed Londoner, Notes and Queries, Cover to
Cover, Rock and Roll Routemaster, Funky Friday, Listened Lindoner.…..maybe these are trials for his podcast. Tickets are £30 inc a pie. Reposted in his stories just now.

I remember Robert Elms mentioning many times on his show going to that pub, naively I thought he was just attending persnally, It will be interesting to see if he promotes this pricey ticketed event on his show. If he does he will probably try to play down the fact his is using the format of his BBC Radio London show, he'll leave Danny to do that.

Yes, he did it as a neckerchief rock kind of outing. It was also ticketed with a pie, mash and vegetables included. Up on the pub’s own page. Last October the 3rd.

edit: he’s just posted the happenings on his own account as a post now.

Blast missed it. There was an excellent one between Grant Shaps and Nick Robinson a few days ago. GS was awful, kept whining about 'well what about Russia and Ukraine - surely that is more important'.
It's available on the bbc radio4 schedule site, move the slider along to around 2hrs 10mins.

Just listening back to Robert Elms' show from last Sunday morning, he straight-up plugs the event he is appearing at, at the Betsy Trotwood pub. He neglects to mention the £30 ticket cost and tells listeners they should look out for it, and mentions it's with Danny from Danny and the champs, easy for punters to find without RE being seen to be giving his own details out.

So, is Robert Elms using the BBC to advertise an event with wich he has a commercial relationship? Unless of course he's not charging a fee. (This can be heard on BBC Sounds at BBC Radio London Sunday 30/1/22 at 14 minutes 8 seconds.

Only heard the end of that show. Will go back and listen. I think all the tickets have sold out according to ‘complaints’ I’ve seen on Instagram. It goes on for a long time…….from 3 pm until 9 pm according to the previous one. ‘Show starts at 5pm. That’s a long day if you had to get up early to do the 9 am Sunday radio show. The pub will make money from drinks and the food, perhaps RE gets the rest. Danny gets exposure in general. Russell Clarke might/should be there, along with Wayne. @Miss LDN 😀

Lyse Doucet was interesting, some unusual music too, she does a lot of work to help people in Afghanistan, her voice/accent gnaws away at my ears though.

The Coming Storm on R4 (Tuesday mornings and Sounds) is very good. An investigation into QAnon, the rumours surrounding the Clintons, 4Chan. Prompted by the storming of the Capitol a couple of years ago, and that wierd shaman guy with horns. Eye opening.
I heard most of this show yesterday at 11.30am, it's truly bonkers.
Especially the QAnon stuff which seems to be almost cult-like.

I haven't looked at the Rajars yet.

I will be tuned in to BBC Radio London tonight at 11pm for the Barking at the Moon segment, to hear "dog experts" Anna Webb and Jo Good (who recently bought a pedigree English Bulldog pup shortly after her 14yo dog of the same breed died) attempt to cover the subject of Norway banning breeding of that breed (and Cavalier King Charles spaniels) due to their very flat faces causing them to suffer all sorts breathing problems and other health issues.

Jo has said they will have a vet on who supports Norway's stance and also said they will have a statement from the Kennel Club, then added, curiously, "but they aren't to blame". What a strange comment from a BBC presenter who should be remaining neutral on the topic. Might they be keeping the Kennel Club sweet, as Anna Webb is showing her dog at Crufts this year?

Eff the Kennel Club. They are why the BBC don’t broadcast Crufts anymore, as I’ve said before. They aren’t a welfare organisation, not in the slightest.

@VeeJayBee can you share your excellent review of last night’s Barking at the Moon here, please.
