She talks absolute rubbish to fill time and I refuse to believe she’s not capable of more intelligent conversation. I like Zoe but do not think she’s suited to this role at all and it makes her unlikeable
I reckon she still harks back to the ladette culture from when she did the R1 show with Evans back in the day, and feels she has to be some type of character. It was bad then and it’s still bad now. As you say, it doesn’t suit her, so it feels forced. If she would just relax and take it down several notches she would be so much more easy on the ear.

I just can't listen to Zoe, she must eat a kilo of Haribo for brekkie before going on air.

Another tie-break on PopMaster, two decent contestants, Judith done well after a shaky start, she should maybe have got the 3 in 10 though.

Liam Gallagher's new tune is awful.

Wasn't it Kevin Greening (RIP) who she used to do the Radio 1 breakfast show with back in the day?

Can't stand her on Radio 2 either, she's unable to refer to any other woman in the studio or in general as anything other than 'gorgeous girl' and so on, makes me feel like I'm a fly on the wall at a dog groomers.

BBC Radio London has had a 31% drop in listeners according to the latest figures.
I dip in and out much, much more than I used to since the reorganisation of last September, having been a regular 0700-1800 listener for a number of years on days working from home. The music policy during news/chat programmes is irritating and unneeded. There are fewer callers (but the same ones seem to be among those fewer callers). Robert's show doesn't have the same impact, with 'flagship' stuff running on alternate weeks (and the increasingly generic playlist is a problem for his type of show). The evenings are a no-go if you don't like sport. The afternoon slot has no definition of its own. There must be a lot of people like me who feel the same.

I see Salma El-Wardany is taking over the breakfast show from Monday. I like Salma, but have really enjoyed Jim Davis being in that slot for the last few weeks and wish he was continuing in it. He has a real warmth to him but can still cover the political/national stuff (of which there has been a huge amount while he has been covering that slot).

I increasingly go to 5 Live Drive which covers a lot of news stuff later in the afternoon, plus sillier stuff when needed. Or Radio 4, 6 Music, podcasts and audiobooks.

A lot of the bbc stations have been losing listeners it seems, maybe something to do with the person in overall charge now.
Radio listeners unhappy with certain changes have gravitated to Greatest Hits Radio, Radio Caroline, Boom, Serenade Radio and others where they can still find their favourite ex-bbc presenters (and music)
Losing presenters like Eddie Mair, Andrew Marr, Fi Glover & Jane Garvey (now on Times Radio) will have cost them too.

Has Fi Glover left? She still does that awful Listening Project doesn't she?
I'm glad Jane Garvey left. Her constant self deprecation was incredibly irritating.
I find their joint podcast unlistenable tbh.

There has been a definite exodus of BBC presenters to other places, and often their audiences will follow.

Change in itself isn't the problem: change can be very positive and a welcome chance to try other things. The problem here is that the BBC is very intent on chasing a youth audience that, by and large, don't listen to radio as a day-to-day part of their lives. Audiences like me (early 50s) have often listed to the radio as small children, wouldn't have been without it as a teenager, and have continued to listen in adulthood. In theory, we have lots of listening years left. It's not clear to me how the BBC intends to cultivate a comparable radio habit in younger listeners, even with all the technological changes we've seen in recent years. Podcasts are great, but they are an add-on, in my view, to listening to regular shows or presenters.

Scott Mills starts on Monday 2-4pm, Sara Cox will now be 4-7pm.
On Monday, Scott will have Zoe Ball & Richie Anderson playing a game called 'Speed Mates'.
On Tuesday you can win a balloon with Scott's face on it if you have a birthday.
duck me, I miss Steve Wright already.
Sounds dreadful. Who on earth is this meant to appeal to? I’ll stick with 6Music.

I've been listening to BBC Radio London's breakfast show while Jim Davis has been on lately. What a shame the slot wasn't given to him. I've caught enough of Salma El - Wardany over recent months to know I won't bother listening at 7am from Monday when she takes the spot permanently.

Jim thanked listeners for nice comments that had been emailed in about him covering the spot. He did so graciously, not actually reading out the emails verbatim. Some of his last callers added thanks and good wishes to their topic calls, again which he accepted modestly.

The above is in stark contrast to pushy station-mate Jo Good, who constantly reads out emails complementing the show, herself, her fashion, her vlogs etc.

She has again been promoting her social media to BBC RL listeners. On her show of 27/10 (BBC Sounds from 02:10:05) you can hear her telling listeners to go to "the social media" to see a clip of a band who performed live on her radio show earlier that night. She then specified her middleagedminx handle, adding the clip was on her Instagram stories. She also said the clip was on BBC socials but I saw no evidence of that.

Her IG stories post will have now expired but no worry to her as anyone who goes to her IG will see her most recent posts on her grid, advertising skin care and dog food, with more to be found further down if they scroll.

Can we imagine, for example, Alex Jones giving her personal, monetised SM handles on the One Show?

Jo Good often says BBC RL management don't listen to her so she gets away with it.
