I've read all her comments and I know I've read her state that she doesn't know him, but I can't find the post where she said it, its doing my head in trying to find it.

I know! For someone who has a broken phone and no Internet she's doing a good job of posting regularly on Facebook.

OK, I have stopped my binge to come back and report. I have watched the first 3 episodes, having a break before I continue with ep 4. There is a warning before it starts, but glad that I have been pre warned.

I am gripped so far and I am obviously viewing differently having already read the thread and seen some of the real Martha's SM posts.
I think it's obvious that some bits are for dramatic affect ( even though I don't think it said so at the beginning, just that it's a true story) for example if someone had been sitting at the same bus stop for days, surely someone would have checked on her.
However after seeing her real FB posts most of it seems so spot on , that I cannot believe R G didn't expect her to be identified. I think anyone who has encountered her and interacted with her would recognise this depiction as her surely.

Very very odd and intriguing.

As someone else has pointed out, the Subo resemblance is noticeable. I wonder if the actress used her accent and way of speaking as a guide.

I actually think she was portrayed with reasonable sympathy on BR. She’s bat tit crazy on her fb with racist and homophobic views! There were times during the series that viewers would have felt some empathy with her, like the time she was sat outside the bus stop for days on end and he took her back to her home and he also alluded she may have been sexually abused when she was younger!

She’s posted again, cba to screenshot… some crap about how Scotland wouldn’t put up with what RG has done.

Do you think she cracks open the wine in the evening then posts for hours on her timeline like it’s a journal? She seems to come alive after 9pm
