I don't believe every conspiracy theory I hear but equally I don't believe everything the government or the media tells me either.
Maybe it's the Irish in me but history has made me sceptical and today is an important today in Irish history. Today the Taoiseach (Irish PM) apologised for the appalling Mother and Baby homes which claimed the lives of over 9000 children right up until as recently as 1998. Hundreds of these babies were literally flushed down the toilet and their bodies found in a septic tank. Hundreds of others sold to people in the UK, facilitated and covered up by Church, Government and State. No longer a conspiracy theory but a fact.
During the troubles there was collusion between the British Army, the police and British intelligence resulting in the murder of many civilians in Northern Ireland, denied at every turn, also now proven facts.
The state HAS covered up mass murder, its even facilitied it and it's things like this that make me sceptical that what we're told is always true, that what's reported is always fact.
I've never heard British involvement with the police and local paramilitaries in N.Ireland referred to as a conspiracy theory. I always thought there was never any doubt in that.
Reading some of the cover ups around the Mother and baby homes, the Magdalen Asylums etc is absolutely horrific I agree and things like that are likely to make anyone skeptical of the powers that be. It's great that you are open minded to consider all sides.
