My sons nursery won't even accept a bag. Spare clothes, nappies and wipes are at nursery and I just send him with his water bottle and Teddy bear. I even bought another nap blanket so he could keep one there.

Putting up your own decorations is just so sad I agree. But unless it’s a big birthday what adult even puts birthday banners up let alone for themselves 😂

Sparkles
Same old tat she is bought (or she buys and the family member gives her the money back,like who even does that anymore, when you have kids you stop getting gifts as it then goes to the kids instead)
She needs to grow up and stop all this fantasy world and sort that dam mess of a house out

Birthdays in our family dont stop just because they have kids, your birthday doesnt cease to exist just because you've had a child 🤣 in fact I don't know anyone who stops getting a birthday gift just because theyve had a child.

Christmas possibly but not a birthday.

This happened to my partner. His aunties and uncles don't buy him birthday or Christmas presents now (same as the other adults) they still buy for our children though

I’m not saying it’s the same for everyone but in our group of friends before we had kids yes we all got each other gifts
We was a group of five couples so would get gifts of all the couples or sometimes i remember I wanted a pair of boots and they was £80 so all couples put money together and I got one big present as opposed to a to individual presents but it was really nice
Same as family members
Then as each couple had kids the birthday presents stopped and it all went on the kids
At Christmas we would do a secret santa between us all about £20-£30 budget so all the adults got a little something to open which was lovely
 
I would genuinely be upset if my husband told me to go out and buy my own birthday presents and that he'd reimburse me.
I'd feel equally tit if I felt that I had to buy my own gifts and then ask my husband for the money back.
You either don't trust your other half to gift you something you'd like, or they're basically telling you they can't be arsed...

I give my husband a list to buy from or we go shopping together because I’m hard to buy for (please!) but her set up is just sad!
