Aldi & Lidl #7

Had the SS Dopiaza curry sauce last night. It was really Lovely.
I’d bought it a few weeks ago on the middle aisle specials. Assuming it was a one off, as haven’t seen it since!
They also had some great curries recently, but just for a week. Wish I’d stocked up on them now, and shoved them in the freezer.
This is the one thing I absolutely hate about Aldi.
You find something really great, and it’s only on sale for a limited time 😞
Those curries for a week were Bilash brand for India week and it said not to freeze them so I had one every day they were on sale until after the sell by date They were the best supermarket curries ever and I have emailed Aldi and asked if they are coming back on general sale but no reply. Their wonderful mango chutney has now disappeared from the middle aisle which has been there for weeks.

pistachio crème spread coming to Aldi from the 24th! and there's a pistachio panettone too 🤤

So I'm walking round Lidl and thought 'i feel so calm'. Then realised they had stopped blaring out that goddam awful music! Anyone else's Lidl stopped playing music? Maybe they had complaints 🤣
Same here - I complained and complained and complained about Lidl and £1 shop.
The worst I have heard was £1 shop playing So here it is Merry Christmas on Nov 1 - the young guy stacking the shelves said, at 2pm, he was sick to death of them but said company policy was 1st Nov they play. I have bombarded them with complaints along with friends. Went in today and we are back to the musical they usually play - which I like.
Arriva bus where I live has an on going light thing and today it said - Seasons Greetings - what on earth is that about. I said to the driver - seasons greetings to you and we had a conversation about which season. It was quite funny as he had not idea it was on there.

My vape shop had Xmas music last week.

I watched the Aldi documentary on Netflix. They said they don’t have music because they have to pay to play music. It was the first time I realised they don’t have any. Shows how observant I am.

I have noticed I quite often hear Hungry Like The Wolf in Asda. I wondered if it’s subliminal and “hungry” in the lyric makes people buy more food 🤣

I have been in a Lidl that was playing music before, it was absolutely awful! With all the announcements and beeps it was just chaotic and a horrible shopping environment. I dislike music in shops on the whole tbh. My local Aldi is always really busy no matter when I go and often quite stressful because the aisles are always blocked with stock, so I’m really glad that they don’t play anything. Not sure if that’s just me being a grump 😅

Had a peruse of their Christmas magazine just now and there’s sooo many yummy looking things on the way 👀 I said to Mr Pecan that we can’t go overboard as it’s just the two of us but in my mind that’s already gone out of the window and I want all of it!

Same, I used to work in a clothes shop and would always turn the music right down when I was in charge (and pretend I had no idea why it was so quiet when the manager questioned it) 🤣

The last 2 years we've bought the veggie sausage wreath and am so pleased it's back again this year. It is absolutely delicious with gorgeous seasoning. I would recommend to anyone with veggie guests or not!

I'm genuinely flabbergasted by hearing about your Lidls that play music 😅 I could swear I've never been to one that does, in the UK or abroad. Unless I'm that far removed from reality that I didn't notice 🤣
Same I've been in many a lidl and have yet to hear a tune. I can only imagine it's like when you think you're in a wetherspoons when in fact it's an all bar one 😄
