24 hours in Police Custody - Channel 4

I found it really chilling too. I was crying when they listed his injuries and yet his parents showed nothing. Poor baby. I hope he’s now loved and cared for.

when the policewoman said the baby would never recover from his injuries and mum goes "well that I didn't know" as if she'd just said a random fact about giraffes!! I couldn't believe it!! It was appalling

ive just caught up with it so I was avoiding this thread until then.
Thank goodness he was found guilty but that sentence is a joke. Poor little baby - disabled mentally and physically for life.
The mum should not be having anymore children - she is clearly completely incapable.

I think the thing that was most shocking was the lack of emotion from anyone - the mother on the phone (I’d have been hysterical if my kid wasn’t breathing and was bleeding from their nose), the grandma (again my Mum/MIL would have been distressed) and the dad who was more bothered about being filmed than the welfare of his child.

The mum clearly had some PND alongside being generally lacking in empathy - it’s such a shame that it wasn’t picked up by a health visitor or another family member.

As a mother of a 15 week old, it absolutely broke my heart to think of what that baby went through. He probably never felt love during his short life. 😢

The toughest watch so far. Especially as I'm a new mum to a 16week old. Had to take a few breaks watching it, but I love 24 hours and it's one of my favourite shows.

I think the first case the mum was guilty as hell. It's so telling the way she used no comment through being interviewed. If it was my baby I'd be doing everything I could to cooperate.
As for the second case neither were ready or able to be decent parents. The mother didn't seem bothered either from not bonding with the baby, past trauma, being lazy, or as someone else could be some sort of learning difficulty or disorder. It seems she left all the baby's care to the dad. The dad obv did try and care for baby, but his temper got the better of him. If he truly loved the baby he should have just come clean. And she was as bad as him because she saw he was rough with the baby before and didn't do enough to protect him. It seems some people just shouldn't have babies. Breaks my heart for all the people who can't have babies but would be wonderful parents and for all the parents who have lost their children through no fault of their own either through illness or accident.

Such an awful and eye opening episode. How anyone can hurt even a hair on a child's head is beyond me.
Shocking.

Yes I lose any sense of trying to justify reasons when it comes to kids. The lowest of the low who deserve extremely heavy punishments for being utter scumbags

I’m so pleased there was a thread of this. I watched the baby episode; my baby passed away at 24 weeks and I have a 4yr old. I can not comprehend how they can hurt a harmless baby, and it’s so bleeping unfair! I read up on the case after, Daniel only served 18 months and the baby was adopted by his foster parents. I can imagine both Vikki and Dan have moved on, and don’t even think about it.

Murder on the doorstep… Christ alive, I can’t believe the suspect got his Mum, Dad, Auntie and Auntie’s partner all arrested. Poor auntie Brenda, last time she will have her sister down!

i can imagine social services will be involved if she does.

“Oh my god it’s Rob! It’s my nephew Rob!” Honestly watched that bit so many times over

i absolutely pissed at this, and her partner just lying in the bed chilling while the police stormed their way in 😂😂😂

For fans of this show, try and find the fraud episode with the orthopaedic surgeon. It’s bloody fantastic, it’s so fantastic that I watched it and then forced my husband to watch it!

I’ve put off watching the last episode and after reading the thread decided not too watch it at all.
I think it will be far too distressng and I cry at the drop off a hat.
Give me murder and mayhem but animals snd children get me everytime
i don’t really think this series was very good. it’s like they couldn’t fit the stories into the allocated time slots. did anyone watch the MET policing london series on bbc?

Is this a recent series? Trying to find it on islander but it's not there
it’s a very good watch i’m sure you’ll be able to source 😉😉
