I know this is off the wall but could it actually be that they're having trouble? Not broken up, but just like... had some major conflict that they've not had before?
It could explain a bit better if she's having a mental struggle/ time away and Alfie hitting the gym so hard, as oftentimes people put their frustration in that and push towards something else as a personal goal idk I'm just thinking out loud. I've always thought, "well, whether they're the perfect person for each other, they've been together so long and have the same kind of life" that I didn't foresee them ever having issues to the point of a breakup, but you never know, because having a child can polarize other issues that weren't showing or bothering you before.

I guess time and what each of them continues to post ( or not post) will be the biggest clue.
