She ignored my question asking why she lied and blamed the push up bra last week. She's also ignored me question about why she used to lie about photoshopping her tits ore boob job 🙄 she's very selective with what she answers 🐍

Definitely . I’m just waiting to hear what she does next in her silly make believe life with all the positive comments . She lives in a fairy tale but I’m sure at some extent she must realise she isn’t all that with all the negative comments she gets

Can’t ever just be straight forward with her ... saggy boobs from loosing weight, asymmetrical, pigeon chest, compressed nerve in shoulder so can’t wear bras, longer surgery than expected, wet herself and a stitch abscess.... she’s such a dick
Doesn't wanna get surgery to fuse the disks together so she gets surgery to get implants put in instead? H'okay gurl

The way influencers talk about their bodies makes me so uneasy. It's the level of detail they come out with to describe everything they hate on their bodies - breast asymmetry, fullness on top versus bottom, distance apart, how they're angled and all of this down to specific measurements. I mean pigeon chest wtf. Just say you have body dysmorphia and go.

It is sad cause you can see how fucked they are in the head but it's so irresponsible to be broadcasting these ideas out to thousands if not millions of young girls. And they get it from all angles from every influencer they follow, they really don't stand a chance in hell of loving themselves. Look how the concept of hip dips popped up one day and spread like wildfire and now nearly everyone would cite that as an insecurity. My concern as a teenager was are my boobs big enough? Not are they perky enough, full on top, close together, acceptable nipple size and shape, create instagramable cleavage 😂 It's funny but also so sad

You’re so right. Social media has created a whole generation and self obsessed, vain narcissists. It’s a sad sad life they lead.

I get what you’re saying but to be honest everybody is different and from the time my boobs started to grow (year 5 - 2000) I was always self conscious and knew they were quite far apart and drooped a bit; some people just aren’t blessed with perky boobs.. I’ve had a child about to have another and breastfed and they are even worse.. I absolutely hate them my nipples point to the ground, there is literally nothing I like about them and could pinpoint every little thing about them, so for me and I’m sure many others it wasn’t just “are they big enough” because they have all the breast tissue they need just in all the wrong places. That was the year 2000 lol so I think since forever women have always been self conscious it’s just that we have social media these days to share those concerns. To me, nothing has really changed other than the body trend of each generation - 90s was super skinny and 00s were big boobs and 10s have been curves.. I dunno lol but who can keep up unless you’ve got £££ to spend or followers to be gifted procedures.

This is such a good point! I suppose if your entire job revolves around taking photos of yourself, you end up getting super critical and insanely neurotic about what could be considered slightly imperfect, and you then end up photoshopping the bejesus out of your body to correct any perceived "wrongs". Aren't all breasts slightly differently sized? I'm sure if I took 40 mins out of my day to stare at mine in the mirror I could spot all number of things... but who has time for that except influencers!

I've read that surgeons have now seen a huge rise in people showing up with photoshopped versions of themselves or filtered versions of themselves, because they've gotten so used to seeing that that they hate that what they see in the mirror doesn't match. It's a worrying trend! If I was Zara's mum I would definitely want to have a word with her about all these perceived imperfections.

Also her new boobs are WAY wonkier and off looking than her natural pair, what are the chances she will get another corrective surgery within a year or two?

RE Zara's insecurity --

Beauty standards are getting more and more specific, and it's becoming normalised to pursue looking that specific way - through skilful makeup application, photo-editing, fillers and surgery (that the price point is steep is rarely acknowledged). These two things play into one another, and the more people that get the look, the more pressure there is, because it starts to seem achievable - like how hip-dips suddenly became a problem as more people got BBLs, facetuned their bodies, mastered angles, used shapewear & focused on glute-building

Influencers operate in an environment where their adherance to these beauty standards directly impacts their success, where their appearance is constantly scrutinised and where they don't often have any self-worth-building hobbies or anything else to do other than pick apart how they look. 0 hobbies + low self-worth + scrutiny + pressure to look a certain way...it's a bad combination

Rather than identifying her dislike for her features as evidence of concerningly low self-worth, Zara genuinely sees her features as faults that need to be fixed and is sharing that mentality with all of her followers, who are in turn getting the same message from most of the other influencers they follow. It would be much better if Zara was honest and didn't lie about it, but I don't think honesty would solve the issue so much as it would make it easier to see - no matter how you slice it, young girls pathologising their own perfectly functional faces and bodies is wrong...nobody should feel like they have to get surgery, become makeup pros, and generally spend lots of time & money just to feel happy with how they look.

This whole pretense of valuing 'natural beauty' makes it even worse because in conjunction with the specific beauty standards, it means that girls affected feel pressured to look that way without ever feeling truly beautiful as it's "fake" (see the 'take a girl on a swimming date' & 'I went to bed with a 10 and woke up with a 4' stuff)
