WhatMummyMakes #8 Raisins and mayo are foods of the devil, but pastry and cheese are simply next level!

Because she is 4 years old and has a full set of teeth 😂

Omg 🤦‍♀️ please tell me I did not just read that.

They weren't that small and her child is nearly 5, a lot of children her age are in school, she's not a baby, she babies her to much. Nina should be able to eat them at her age.

I've always been told that children can choke on anything that fits through a loo roll tube. Definately smaller than that. I don't understand the problem of being cautious. Different situation if she didn't want to give the chocolate to Nina due to being unhealthy. With all the other crap they eat

…but if it doesn’t fit through a loo roll tube, it probably wouldn’t fit in her mouth?

Can we not derail by turning the thread in to a mums net debate.
Can I marvel at the excessive amount of chocolate consumed in their shared hot choc instead? Here Nini, eat at least a whole Easter egg melted down with some extra on the side to stir in. Perfect snack for a warm Wednesday evening. Now enjoy the sugar high while we, sorry I, do your jigsaw. But no mayo in the coleslaw, only yoghurt as we are sooooooo healthy 🤪

I mean, we all would. That’s why we chew, like.

Not to get all mumsnet, but I think a child's windpipe is apparently the width of a drinking straw? so as long as the food is bigger than that, they are unlikely to choke. Of course, even an adult can choke on any kind of food, it's all about minimising risk. It's more a perfect storm combination of size, shape, hardness, slippery-ness that causes problems.

Sorry to derail

This was her chance to be relatable for once but she blew it.

Instead of ‘oh aren’t I a naughty mummy finishing my daughter’s jigsaw whilst she crashes after a sugar high….’ We could have the far more normal
‘Oh aren’t I a naughty mummy, I told Nina her Easter eggs were all gone but secretly I scoffed the last one whilst hiding in the downstairs loo because I needed some personal space and couldn’t bear to be touched for one second longer……’

Just me?
(And no I’m not eating a bit of my daughter’s Easter egg whilst she watches Room on the Broom in the other room for the 86th time as I type this….)

Oh definitely me too. So much more normal 👏🏻

So Mumsnet. Someone will pop up and say ‘my child is 9 and I still cut his grapes into quarters’ any minute now.
Probably 😂😂

Behave 😂😂😂

Her post on food refusal really infruriates me - how would she really know how to deal with that? She has no child nutrition qualifications, has never worked with children and she has had one child who from every indication she has given has just lapped up food… I honestly think she would have lost her tit if Nina hadn’t been into eating. She should try looking after my toddler for a day 😂

Want to bet this comment doesn’t get a response / gets deleted…. ?

Also notice that every grid post includes ‘tag a parent to let them know they’re doing a great job!’
She doesn’t want to encourage parents. She wants to increase her followers.

Love this comment!!! So spot on!!! She doesn’t have any experience and that’s what it all boils down to. I doubt she even had much with Nina. My toddler threw her cereal all over the floor this morning 🤣 wonder how Rebecca would deal with this?!
She’ll either delete or respond with a really patronising comment that’s passive aggressive or non-commital. You’re right too, it’s all about getting followers. That’s all she gives a tit about!
