Absolutely fanbloodytastic. Such a fresh approach to the super power trope of old.
I don't know any of the actors but I honestly couldn't pick one who was bad, I truly forgot I was watching a show at times because I was so immersed in it.
I will admit that I had to watch with subtitles because some of the street talk was beyond me but that was mainly for the younger/gangsta characters and because I'm old and out of touch.
The last episode had quite a few twists and turns that were just epic.

I really enjoyed it although I found it a bit clunky, like they tried too hard to make it a social commentary and just shoehorned certain things in rather than having them seamlessly woven into the storyline, characters and fabric of the show.
Also I thought it felt a bit silly in places (a bit 'Doctor Who'!) and the plot quite predictable but I'd definitely watch another series to hopefully see the main characters develop.
Have you seen Misfits? If not, I'd highly recommend. It's superb but quite a bit darker. Also "Extraordinary" might be worth a look, if not already watched - not as good or as dark as Misfits but also a 'young people with superpowers' type concept, although the vibe is much less 'street' and more sweet, fun, middle class geeks/nerds. It's quite a nice little show with a bit of humour but also surprisingly touching in places.
There were some really good performances but I didn't see the point in casting Eddie Marsan - a relatively big name but was barely seen. Seemed a waste and his part could've been played by anyone...unless his name was just used to sell the show, perhaps.
Also the blonde boss-woman at the Sickle Cell clinic/lab place (also plays Grace in Blue Lights) was a bit annoying, with her trademark whiny voice and patronising tone.
I feel that part was possibly miss-cast as she seemed a bit pantomime villain/Dr Who baddie (unless that was intentional). The way she was, at the clinic, when we saw her OTT bedside manner with that guy's mum, made it too obvious that she had sinister/ulterior motives and gave the game away about the research facility lab place.

Yes I've seen Misfits - really enjoyed it. I'm the type of viewer that doesn't look too deeply into stuff so most of what you've said was lost on me I'm a very "basic" audience member haha!! I think anyone coming to it who looks deeper than me would undoubtedly find something to highlight that didn't quite sit right, so I can totally see your points (and agree) now they've been pointed out to me!
case in point, although the casting of the blonde actress had confused me early on, as she's very well known, it was literally the reveal that I twigged she was the boss . I'm in the minority I think because I really like her and love her accent - a soft Brummy - loved Blue Lights and she is the sister in Trying on Apple TV

People just enjoy their TV viewing in different ways, I guess, so there's no right or wrong way. Just take whatever you like from it!
It depends what mood I'm in but I'm terrible for reading into anything and everything, driving my OH mad with my plot theories. He also reeeeaaaally hates it when we're in the middle of watching something and I mention which other shows the actors have also been in, but I can't help it!
I was just flicking through channels, why the actual duck are channel 5 still promoting those Radfords, wasn't she like 13 when she first got pregnant? Awful grifters imo.
