The shadow fold is this large black way that people from various towns have to take to transport materials and people. In the fold there are these creatures called volcro which kill people. Her powers get discovered while she was working as a map maker and she begins a new life journey going to the palace. The people at the palace called Grisha have powers(air, fire, wind,) and are hated by a lot of different areas. The story also involves this group called the crows basically a group of criminals who do crime-related activities.
Very likable characters and a very likable cast, the casting is so amazing.
