I've only watched a couple of episodes but it's changed from being a sweet, easy watch over the winter to something I'm watching to see how bad it gets. Do the production team employ no continuity people, no script editors or casting team? they seem to just patch it all together and hope it works. Mel and Jack and just so devoid of personality too.

The fact that Charmaine is STILL pregnant is laughable yet the whole, complex plot involving Reacher and Paige and the guy they killed was resolved and put to bed in half an hour. I just loved Brady's attempt at acting when the drug cartel woman told him off. He's clearly been to the Joey Tribbiani school of acting and was smelling the fart like a good 'un.
 
The recap at the start was hilarious. I always think nothing ever happens but of course, EVERYTHING happens because they can't focus on character development or good dialogue as it's so poorly written. They need action or it all falls apart.
 
Sadly, after a year of anticipation, series 5 is a complete let down and isn’t going down well with fans. They had a new Showrunner this season, a man, and they decide on the storyline and then the writers write it. He obviously got it very wrong! They said that this season was about Mel and Jack developing a deeper connection. Fans want the love scenes that have been present in past series but we didn’t get them. Something has happened between Martin and Alex that became apparent by their lack of genuine intimacy this year. It’s been fuelled by the fact that Martin apparently has a new girlfriend who is very jealous and controlling and may not be happy with his obvious connection and deep friendship with Alex. They used to do cooking shows together for the fans which were called “the inappropriate cooking show” and it was so obvious how much they felt for each other. Then Alex posted a rant on IG outing a fan page for showing clips f the show of her and Martin ‘making out’…..she was very angry and asked people to stop posting such pics (she’d never said anything for the past 4 seasons) and it was so out of character and upset a lot of fans who felt she doth protested a bit too much.

It was rumoured that Martin was possibly behind the request as he was getting flack from the girlfriend. Either way, it appears that there are now no such scenes in this new series so make of it what you will but also Martin hardly posts now on his IG or interacts with fans as he has always done. It’s a shame because so many of us watch this show for escapism but this storyline has been the pits! To put fans through all the baby saga only for her to lose it again, plus the stupid Charmaine twins‘ father crap is just a tad too far. Sorry for rant but you can tell I’m a huge fan who is pretty disappointed 😔

Never mind Martin having a girlfriend. Alex has a husband! So I can understand them getting annoyed with fans trying to make them a real life couple, so no wonder he doesn’t post as much. Sorry but some fans get really carried away and it’s scary! 🙈

True, but they’re actors and used to love scenes and screen kisses. There were no complaints from series 1 to 4 though. Plus, Casey, Alex’s husband is used to her appearing in more raunchy scenes in previous stuff she’s done and Martin has said in the past that he is fully understanding of the scenes and trusts Martin. They are all good friends.
