A healthy child doesn't need a seat on public transport more than an elderly, pregnant, or mobility-limited adult. I don't believe children should be made to always give up a seat like they were in the past, but it is wrong for parents to hastily steer the child towards a vacant seat when an adult who obviously needs it more is there (obviously, first come first served if there's no one around who should take priority)

I always remember my grandad saying the thing that had changed the most I society was children being prioristed in things like this instead on older people

Well I dunno, but I'm not sure that being very promiscuous is the key to happiness - maybe it is, but I've never done it, so just my pov

Children are prioritised with everything these days and it's making them into entitled, unresilient doses!
Even with covid "BUT THE CHILDREN HAVE SACRIFICED SO MUCH!" so has everyone! And in fact if covid restrictions had been around when I was child, what I would've "sacrificed" would've been little in comparison to older age groups. Oh but little 7 year old Johnny didn't get his foreign holiday to Lanzarote for the last 2 summers. Heartbroken for him 🙄

ETA i know covid has been hard on children but I don't think it's been any harder on them than other age groups

True, but there's also promiscuity among some straight people, so the "lifestyle choice" of being promiscuous isn't dependent on a person's sexuality.

I'm not trying to be difficult, I just don't like generalisations being made about people purely because of their sexuality.

I agree, my husbands business did a food bank donation last year and as well as essential food, toiletries and cleaning items, we threw in twenty little chocolate selection boxes. We will do the same this year too.

i sent in some advent calendars and selection boxes when my daughters school did a food bank appeal last year. Just wanted some children to get a little treat

Always get this re donating make up or nice smelling stuff to women’s shelters… ‘donate something sensible’ okay but why can’t women in shelters have make up too? Nobody is making them wear it but might make them feel more human/normal. Very weird attitude

I buy a lot of makeup, skincare and toiletries, probably use it once and instead of throwing it out or letting it rot in my makeup baskets, I’ve been trying to give it away to women homes. If I go there I always make sure to get a few packs of pads and tampons to throw in as-well.

When you’re feeling shite and have probably left a terrible relationship or home life, a bit of makeup and your hair done, probably will make you feel a bit better.
 
The food bank box at my local Tesco has always annoyed me because they have it at the exit as you leave. Now, while I understand this is for you to put paid goods in, I only ever remember it's there as I'm walking out!

Last week when I was there they had a little stand at the entrance with a sign with what goods they needed. Much better idea. I think if it wasn't too expensive they could print off a little shopping list of essentials for you to take.

I often put stuff like biscuits in there as well as essentials just for a little treat.

Sounds like you were unlucky and obviously what you get depends on donations. but ours always try to put things for meals, our one also buys food so they always have fruit veg eggs etc. most supermarkets now donate a huge amount of end of date stuff (they used to skip it and pout bleach over it!!) so our local larder has enough that anyone can go pick up a bag or two of shopping.

I hope you no longer need a food bank but if you do I hope in the future you are able to get some good meals out of what they give you also treats :)

As long as you're enjoying the profits that's the main thing 😂 I see a few of the Dark hedges have been felled by the wind .
