I think they’re awful too! I liked them as a kid but adults who bang on about them as if god himself created them need to grow up

Branston Beans are minging Sainsburys Value ones used to be nice but idk if they still make them as I darent go to Sainsburys their stuff is so nice i always spend too much

Agree about the Haribo Jelly Babies they are delicious but nothing compares to the red and purple ones. Also I absolutely love the Percy Pigs and even buy the Percy Pig Muffins with a big fat Percy on the top.

It’s only regional accents from up north. We never hear a variety of West Country accents. It’s like they have Bill Bailey and Josie from BB on ITV so why bother.

this is happening loads on the train too. the other morning a man by door was watching some sporting video loudly by door, it was clearing driving many passengers (myself included) mad - people tutting and moaning. ot went on for about 10 mins when i cracked...
i actually stood up and asked politely if he wouldnt mind turning it down or putting headphones on , not once but 3 times. it was so loud he couldn't hear me so i resorted to yelling that man by the door turn your Volume down! he did but spent the rest of journey glaring at me as if i was out of order for daring to challenge him! and to my annoyance some of the moaners also gave me looks like i was deranged for saying anything.
its beyond selfish 😡

I remember the first time we went out drinking as a group and their whole dynamic changed. No hand holding, no quick pecks. It was like an understood rule for them that you didn’t do that in public (this was about 10 years ago). It made me really sad for them.

This! I have been saying how baffling it is these floggers and at this stage every Tom Dick and Harry heading here on Holiday or for a year of tax free salaries are. Not even taking into account the obvious patriarchy ruling the UAE, one of the Kings literally held two of his adult daughters hostage while his then wife and child fleeing to UK for asylum!

I remember seeing youtube documentary about tourists getting sent to jail over mundane things in dubai like drinking alcohol without license, sex before marriage or even PDA! What I would be scared of most is being that unfortunate soul who is caught. It's barbaric and crazy so many people still blissfully flock here, but the UAE obviously got what they wanted making it an urban and tourist hotspot where they (usually) turn a blind eye to western antics.
 
I have an unpopular opinion when it comes to dating.

I really feel like people get the ick way too easily over the smallest of things because the menu of options they have is endless. Instead of looking at another person as an imperfect human with flaws (just like them) they use a minor thing, a word, phase, mannerism, behaviour or perception etc to basically write someone off and move on to the next person.

Many want a perfect finished product while wanting the other person to accept they themselves are a work in progress.

ooof I dunno, I’ve sometimes gotten the ick when I didn’t want to have the ick. It’s totally involuntary and sometimes really annoying.

I dated a guy who was slightly shorter than me but had a huge complex about it. My housemate text me a bit of a jokey text about his height one day when I was showing him my phone and he neeeeever got over it.

his insecurity and pettiness over it gave me the ick. I accepted his “flaw” of being on the short side, previously I’d been enjoying spending time with him. But his crappy attitude just gave me the ick and I couldn’t get past it.

I don’t think the ick is about being spoiled for choice, since I absolutely hated tinder etc at the time and wasn’t a big fan of dating in general.

I DESPISE people who listen to videos loudly on public transport. It’s so rude and inconsiderate.

can I add people who have loud conversations to this too? It’s a shared space, be considerate of other people who maybe don’t want to hear your phone gossip session or your dial on contribution to your work meeting.

IMO the ethos should be that public spaces are shared spaces and we should be aware of other people - be considerate of not taking up too much physical space, don’t be stinky, don’t be too loud.

Do you want to run quickly to the antenatal department waiting room I'm currently sat in and kick some inconsiderate heads in?

There's a couple playing tiktoks at top volume, a loud lady facetiming what appears to be every contact in her phone one after another, and a man making business calls and sending emails from his laptop while they wait to be seen.

I want to kill them all. 😤

I actually think a hospital waiting room makes it all the more horrific.

hospitals can be fine for most people but waiting rooms can be excruciatingly anxiety inducing. People are waiting to hear bad and good news, dealing with losses or health concerns.

they need quiet, relaxed, supportive environments.

I was in a hospital waiting room to have an abdomen scan a few years ago following an early miscarriage. It was a pretty horrendous experience - made all the worst by some lady chatting loudly on the phone while my anxiety went off the charts. What’s wrong with people?!

I hope a bit of a rant on tattle helped if nothing else!

one of my ex flatmates was a talk loudly on the phone type of person. We ended up growing apart because she turned out to be not my type of person at all. Sounds silly but that type of selfish behaviour was actually a red flag and indicative of a lot of other really selfish and problematic behaviour that I just couldn’t stand anymore.

anyway, I’ll get off my soapbox now and go take a breath of breath air…
