Trinny Woodall #2 Queen of the King's Road!

Yes, I've noticed she does these big, intense things (jam-packed trips to New York, big announcements for Trinny London with long days, etc) and then seems a bit off when she's home and in her normal routine. I don't think she's the best at self-care or relaxing. Being a workaholic is often seen as a good thing but I've always felt it's just as concerning as being depressed or "down". It needs to be addressed because why are you unable or unwilling to sit with yourself in peace?
Self-care just seems to mean shopping. Bought a cashmere jumper to match the hat, a coat to match the trousers, this colour doesn't suit me but I like the energy, bought this bag but I don't like it ... and on and on.
I'm all for an impractical, spontaneous purchase but nothing feels considered.

All of this behaviour is tied up with addiction which she is open and honest about. Addiction comes in many forms - phones, shopping, over eating, under eating, caffeine, sex…… and I think she is ADHD - undiagnosed. I still think she is doing great. It’s so much to juggle

I agree, it's clearly an extension of her addictive behaviours. I'm just finding the extraordinary amount of shopping and endless buying of things disturbing and gross. Even when she went trekking in Nepal it became yet another shopping opportunity. Its ethically irresponsible and quite pathological. She needs to address it.

Agree, the shopping issue needs to be addressed because stuff is never going to fill the void she's trying to fill. I can't really watch anything she films in her wardrobe room because it's such an insane display of stuff. You'll never convince me she knows what she owns or wears even 1/8 of it. Unless she's changing clothes five times a day, it's mathematically impossible.

Speaking of the void...

Unlurking to say someone has ADHD, not “is ADHD”. The latter is condescending & disrespectful & considered by some to be ableist language, because you’re saying someone “is Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder”, rather than a person with the condition.

‘Has’ only has one more letter than ‘is’ so it’s hardly an effort to use the right word.

Perhaps state that without being condescending 🤔

Well my last sentence was meant to be droll and ward off any defence of them using a shorthand or colloquism….

But nah, I’m good. The same poster I responded to also wrote elsewhere in this thread “I quite like people with ADHD”, so I think she fully qualifies for a bit of condescension directed her way from someone (me) who has it and has a child with it.

Seriously, can you imagine someone posting “I quite like people with autism” or “I quite like people in wheelchairs”. ADHD is a registered disability, not a cute quirk.

I didn’t know that……I didn’t pick it up. I do see it in Trinny though. I quite like people with ADHD - they are quite entertaining. Be awful if we were all the same

If you believe there’s no shame in someone having ADHD, there’s no shame in speculating if someone has ADHD. I’m neurodiverse & wonder if other people are like me all the time.

I completely get that. But regardless of how good the intention is, it’s speculation about someone else. So while your (general ‘your’) views on having ADHD and the appropriateness of speculation matters, their views matter too because it’s their brain & neurodevelopment being discussed.

In the case of public figures like Trinny, we don’t know whether they find such speculation insulting or an invasion of privacy, as many do, which is why armchair diagnosing is generally discouraged.
