I know she’s said she felt like she wasn’t being herself when she dressed in the 1940s style and preferred the Kate Middleton casual look. She looked really good when they met up recently and she wore trousers and a silk scarf I think it was. I wonder if she’s still friends with them?

No that’s teapotsandtablecloths (Lydia), she hasn’t posted in a good few weeks. Don’t get me wrong it’s all well and good being more conscious of make do and mend lifestyles etc but it’s all very “twee”

mrswarrshome is another in the Blenheim Circle (cannot stand that name) and is all very soft spoken and addresses people by “dear hearts” - I honestly would have been bullied if my mum went on this way 🫣

I do wonder about the children of these women like Mrs Teapot fully living 80 years in the past, will their children get bullied at school ect. She seems very controlling over her family, including the Mr Teapot. I'd imagine once her children start wanting play-dates with school friends Mrs T will filter and approve who comes in her living history museum home she's creating, complete with garden Anderson shelter.

agreed, I just couldn’t be arsed. The same with rememberingtheoldways (Michelle) ..she’s got two girls and you just feel like this “lifestyle” is forced
 
I quite like Teapots and Mrs Large, although not keen on the Sian one. They obviously enjoy living that way and it seems authentic, like they’ve found their tribe sort of thing. If their kids are bullied because of how their parents live or dress, then that’s the bullies’ problem. If the kids decide when they’re a bit older that they don’t share their parent’s love of vintage living and wanted a Spider-Man bedroom or whatever, then that should be respected. I don’t get controlling vibes from Lydia but I could be wrong.

Remembering the old ways 2 youngest daughters do seem to live a very sheltered life, isolated life. Some of her older kids seem much more independent.
Edited to add she has 8 children in total

I haven’t noticed that myself personally. Both her and her husband seem to embrace living a vintage lifestyle, I remember her saying that he was keen on wearing vintage clothing.

Haha I quite like the cute nickname they have for their group. Though I’m pretty sure there has been a fall out with Alena and them as she said they won’t meet up before she emigrates (I’m guessing to New Zealand as that’s where her husband grew up I believe) and she’s moving in December so plenty of time.

I think what might protect her children from bullying is that they go to privates schools and are wealthy. If I went to my local comp and my mum was like this on instagram yes I agree I would have been bullied.
 
In an ideal world there should not be bullying, most of us know this, children can be very cruel and home in on the slightest thing. These women may not want to fit in as Mrs Teapot has said before, the little children have no choice. I was bullied myself for several reasons, one was my mother dressed me in a few old fashioned items of clothing , I absolutely loathed and hated it because I had the piss ripped on a daily basis, a beret she made me wear was ripped off my head and thrown down the school bus, I rebelled hugely the older I got.

And as for private schooling. Trust me, bullying goes on in the Independent Schools. I have been to state and private.

Mrs Warr gifted Alena a Beryl Ware toast rack (very rare item) for her birthday not that long ago and a lot of Berylware china. Alena sold the toast rack for big money on Ebay and is clearing out all her Beryl Ware before this move abroad. I'm not sure how I'd feel if I had gifted an item to a dear friend that really wanted it - for said gift to be sold on for a LOT of money not too long after it being gifted. I don't think Mrs Warr paid top money for it.

I always felt The Bleinham Circle would not last..if Alena wasn't relocating it would have popped !
Alena to me is not a genuine woman or friend. I can imagine she has gone through life having friendships that don't last v long. She is out for herself at that moment in time. She certainly does not want to work in paid employment and is happy being kept. New Zealand will benefit her because hubby will get a much higher salary out there.

2 youngest daughters are home schooled. They are definitely Remembering The Ways !

I actually think Alena was the weakest link in the Bleinham Circle. The other three seem to be really interested in vintage life, dressing, films etc whereas Alena seem more interested in living like a rich lady of leisure.
 
Mrs Large IG account is not what I would call a big player in the IG world of Vintage. Content is very different to likes of
Teapot/Warr/Remembering, they have huge followings. I wonder if the bulk of their followers are Housewifes in America? Stay at Home Wives is a massive movement out there.

Mrs Teapot I have got the sense it is her love of the vintage lifestyle. She has said she fell in love with it as a teen and it progressed. I imagine (maybe wrong) husband was happy to go along with it when I said she seems controlling, maybe that was too harsh and the wrong word. I I do feel she runs the family and it is her way or no way. Mr Teapot isn't allowed a selection of the home-made preserves open at any one time !

I know we only get snippets on IG. I maybe completley wrong.

Regarding the toast rack..

If it were me..I'd offer it to one of the Bleinham Circle into Beryl and even offer it back to Sian. Maybe she did this and maybe Sian know she was selling it..who knows. It just did not sit right with me when I saw the toast rack appear in a FB Group announcing it was on EBay.

She came off IG the beginning of the year. She deleted IG and made up a load of codswallop as to why she had left. Her appearance changed, the vintage look had gone and she was out spending and lunching with husband in nice restaurants and just non stop bragging .. one of her purchase s and shown off was a pair of Fairfax & Favor boots which cost a good few hundred, like near £500. At the time I remember thinki gosh, there's a cost of living crisis going on, what will followers think of this one .she was also working woth a brand like B&M bargains..not a brand that fits with all she was standing for and her supposed lifestyle!? She must have been pulled up somewhere about it all or confronted and then disappeared. A while after she published a list of nonsense why she left Insta on her FB..

The end of the year her and family are moving abroad. House is up for sale and many contents!

I find her beliefs repellent, and since I first heard about her she has held a kind of morbid fascination for me so I used to occasionally lurk on her insta. She was always very spendy and showing off about weekends away and branded handbags etc.. I got the impression her husband being able to provide expensive consumer goods for her was part of her whole trad wife schtick. She really wanted to be a glamorous 50s or 60s style wife with an affluent lifestyle.

She then suddenly got involved with the Blenheim lot and started posting about vintage buys but even so she was more about the spending than the 'make do and mend' approach of some of them. It felt very performative and I think she thought she'd found a new market for her ridiculous books and meal planner tat.

Then just as quickly she was back to lunch in gastro pubs and expensive boots.

As for the rest of them, Mrs Teapot is a bit obsessed but I don't see her as controlling. I just think she takes it too far. She was apparently a history teacher but seems to have a very rose-tinted view of life in the 40s.

Yes she said she prefers Kate’s look and didn’t like wearing vintage styles and her husband didn’t like her in it either.
