Tom Daley

10 years on it's still weird. "Here is a picture to celebrate our 10 years together, with my medals just so you remember what I am famous for ..."

Kids and an open relationship seem to suit them - or and the f'ing knitting too :)

Tom was 18 when they met, barely legal, grieving his dad, in a high pressure career at a young age and still working out who he is and coming to terms with sexuality. It's all a bit red flag predatory to me.
I wouldn't call 18 "barely legal" in a British context. I'm not saying that a 20 year age difference at that point isn't potentially a bit dodgy, but I don't think we can make assumptions that someone is predatory based solely on that.

If people think the age of consent should be 18, fine, and I don't think I'd protest too harshly against it being, but the reality is that it's not at the moment.

I have also seen at least one person (on Reddit, admittedly) advocate that the ½ age plus 7 rule should be enshrined in law. Which I wouldn't agree with because its barking mad.

The thing that really struck me was the reference to meeting at a ‘dinner party’ - I think everyone knows about the Hollywood ‘dinner parties’ where young guys who want to break Hollywood are invited by big wigs and basically abused. If anyone has seen the Ryan Murphy series ‘Hollywood’ then this is literally it.

Tom is still being quoted about the unfairness of men not being allowed to take part in women’s elite athletics in the light of the announcement yesterday,

I don't understand how he can be in favour of it. Would he want to compete against someone who had taken performance enhancing drugs? Its the same comparison. There is scientific evidence that has been researched thoroughly, its not an anti trans thing, it's a fairness thing.

I can't understand how he's not embarrassed. Or at least clever enough to keep a low profile regarding his views on this issue.

He was always really friendly with the British women's divers, does he not think he's being offensive and misogynistic, inviting biological men into their category?

He has to know transwomen have an advantage, I'm not buying naivety as an excuse - he's been in the world of elite sports most of his life.
Nevermind him thinking it's his place to speak on behalf of women 😠

It probably wouldn’t affect him as he’s a man it’s female athletes who would be adversely impacted if biological males were allowed to compete against them.

Oh yeah sorry I realise that, I meant the comparison to if he had to compete against a man who had taken some sort performance enhancing drug. Which is basically what is happening to women in this instance. There are scientifically proven advantages for a trans woman who has gone through male pubity.

She was out again last night ... ill fitting jacket. Why does he never wear a shirt??? Looks almost middle England twin set and pearls. Did he leave the tag on? And did he forget his handbag - hurrah on that point.

Oh dear. All looks too try hard.

A well fitted suit nipping in at all the right places has the power to make anyone look classy, sophisticated, and like they have something about them.

This is just Pauline from the 80s.
