Great news about the medals this morning.

I stayed up to watch the womenā€™s street skateboarding heats last night and found it thoroughly entertaining. What helps is the commentators really know their stuff and are really good at explaining things. The range of ages is incredible, you have 13 year old girls showing up the more experienced professionals in their late 20ā€™s and 30ā€™s. I found the menā€™s competitors were generally older, I guess because it used to be seen as more of a ā€˜boys sportā€™ and now things are changing. Going to watch the final today at some point even though I already know who wins thanks to bloody FacebookšŸ™„

We have two girls competing in the womenā€™s park skateboarding next week. So excited for that.

edit: just put skateboarding final on and bbc have cut off the first run or two. Bloody ridiculous. How hard is it to edit??

So so happy for Tom Daley! Iā€™m watching now on iplayer.

also, for anyone who hasnā€™t been able to see the dressage, if you have Facebook, go on Stable Express Facebook page and they have all 3 of our riders. What a power house Everdale is! Vogue looks like he was really hot and made a couple of mistakes but was still a nice test and Carl rode beautifully as always. Gio is such an awesome little horse, Charlotte on form as always too. So glad I have finally managed to see them and canā€™t wait to see the rest of their tests ā¤ļø

Iā€™m sure it was Carlā€™s horse, during the line of changes he maybe applied a bit too much leg or rein and the horse was like oi let me do my thing haha

haha yeah he was a bit like ā€˜oi, bugger offā€™. All such different but lovely horses. Lottie Fry is tiny and manages Everdale so well as he is 17hh stallion with such expression. I want to ride all of them but I imagine Everdale would bounce me right out of the saddle šŸ˜‚

iā€™ve just watched it and i couldnā€™t believe how big he was! i canā€™t even imagine how strong lotties abs arešŸ˜‚šŸ˜

We have our daily team meeting in ten minutes and I'm thinking, how dare this conflict with the gymnastics :ROFLMAO:
I had to go in this office today as a bubble has burst. Bloody typical we then start getting gold medals šŸ˜‚

Some of these big gangly up front warmbloods arenā€™t my cup of tea. There was a dark chestnut stallion yesterday who was a proper chunk

oh yeah, definitely. These days I like something chunkier. I was saying to my friend yesterday that my next horse will be an Irish sports horse or a cob, with a barrel I can wrap my leg around and a leg in each corner. My newfy was small but had a back like a table and even though Iā€™m tall, I didnā€™t look that tall on him.

I really like Gio.

My family rehomes ex-racers and my little nephew really wants to be a jockey, but he's so excited for the show jumping that he's took all the blinkers off his toy racehorses and made 'doilies' for their heads instead :ROFLMAO:

Iā€™ve got a pure ID and he definitely has a leg in each corner. I love Gio I saw Charlotte ride him in a clinic a few years ago and you could just tell he was special

I fell asleep during the triathlon yesterday. The amount of work those guys were doing was making me tired. As usual, so gutted as it seems the gold medal winner really gave it his all in the last 5 or so minutes

But yes! That's exactly why the women's skateboarding has much younger competitors and since it's not as saturated as the men's it's much easier to get into at a competitive level
It's good to see Japan taking the gold for the men's as it will hopefully clear the sports association with delinquency and open it up to more people

I also just learnt that Tony Hawk is part of the commentary team and has been able to use the course too!

Yeah I saw Tony Hawk having a go on the course in between heatsšŸ¤£ didnā€™t realise he was doing commentary, lucky Americans. Although like I said the Uk/bbc commentators did a really good job of explaining things so i knew what was going on, what the tricks were called etc. I watched the GB vs Germany hockey match and the commentators left a lot to be desired, I didnā€™t have a clue what was going on, I know the general premise of the game but didnā€™t understand why people were being carded etc.

I honestly think some of these young women are just as good as some of the older male skateboarders. Certainly when they are older and more experienced they will surpass them. Iā€™ve never been on a board in my life but watching it is so entertaining to me. Makes me want to try and learn myself but I think at 30 I might be a bit latešŸ˜‚
