More tongue out zwifting shit.

I imagine we’ve all had injuries that have floored us. Do we get on the bike the next day?

Depends. We are obviously only seeing a snapshot of what she is going through but if the injury is taking her out until Christmas then my advice would be to rest. Not jump on a bike and beast it. Fitness isn’t lost in a week.

The pair of them are fucking morons.

I was clearing out my stuff the other day while decorating and came across letters between my gp and consultant about my stress fracture almost a decade ago. I was on the pill but had no periods. They were discussing this (I was in denial about the whole thing so buried the letters) and possible steps to take. I managed to get better on my own re the fracture and never saw them about my periods. I carried on running, barely eating and then fucked my Achilles and running 5 years later. I was convinced I was ok, I was in the right that my body could run a marathon with no food and just keep on.

Each injury though was another notch on a ticking time bomb. Kelly has worn herself out this year. The injury is a huge alarm bell. Getting on the bike and pounding her body on that will not help, in fact it will exacerbate the situation. We all know this. So many of us have been there. I was in tears the other day thinking of what I put my wife and my parents through.

Tits is the worst person for her to be around.o

I apologise for the long post and for the me-rail. It is heartbreaking to see so many runners do this to themselves time and time again.

Their arrogance astounds me, they do think they are elite level runners on all terrains.

XC/Trail and road are totally different entities.

I run trails, and would see myself as very competent on them. Recently ran an utlra with my 16 min park run road runner mate. He was done in half way around.

Conversley,he could run two park runs in the time i could run one!

It is sheer arrogance that makes them think they can just flip flop around the styles of running.

They'd claim they do run "trails" but the reality is it's just a footpath in some woods, not the challenging boggy stuff some of us run on. Of course she's knackered herself if not from doing stupidly high mileage for her goals and ability level then from switching from her very cushioned road shoes to spikes with no previous experience of running in them. Also you don't have to do XC. Plenty of the speedy road runners at my club don't bother with our winter trail league (it's not traditional XC, we all do the same distance, mixed sex racing with hundreds of feet of elevation and knee deep bogs to go through, I wear fell shoes not spikes) it's OK to prefer road and stick to it.

They have to be everything to everyone; anything to increase the number of followers!

Insta. Is. Life.

They probably see the elites like Jakob Ingebrigtsen and Jake Weightman do/talk about xc and think that is the next bandwagon they need to be on to make themselves appear as 'proper' runners/relevant. Kelly's training is a joke for her ability level and tits is a law unto himself.
I reckon a lot of it as well is that XC is where most young rising stars cut their teeth if they’re not on the track. Trouble is when you’re pushing 40 it’s probably a little too late for that 😂

Did she run in spikes? If so her calf is probably done in, you certainly don’t race in them unless you have practiced. Seriously it’s basic running knowledge x country is a whole different beast than road running.
I’m sure spikes have their place for those charging through the muddy but honestly I run a cross country league which is extremely muddy/boggy, I am a better runner than our Kel but mid pack and trail shoes/mudclaws are good for me. Each to their own but most of us can’t afford to buy a new pair of shoes each time we want to dip our toe into a new sport!
