What got me last time was the twist at the start when they got rid of two people. It really showed what type of show it would be. Without such a shock this time it was abit more pedestrian. I get they couldn't do the same twist, but thought they might have done something else.
It seemed a bit suspect that Zack mentioned a connection between Paul and Diane. The cynic in me wondered if the producers had said something like "do you think any of the contestants might be related?" to plant a seed in his mind.

I think the roast dinner conversation was contrived/scripted as well. The producers wanted Diane and Ross to have a funny little dramatic irony conversation for the audience. There'd be no need to potentially jeopardise your secret like that just for banter between you and the person you're in cahoots with.
ETA: I'm not saying this a criticism because it's reality TV, innit. Of course there will be producer nudged moments.

Yeah definitely. I can imagine they were led to have little knowing conversations like that
I'm always interested in how reality TV shows are actually made. I know you can't leave it all to chance because you risk it being boring, but sometimes they feel a little too planned. Also, is it really a day in real time? I just think if they have breakfast at, say, 8am then have a bit of a chat before doing a task in mid to late morning. Do they really sit around chatting till the evening when they do the banishment?

I think I read somewhere about the previous series how long the scenes filming the Traitors making their decisions in the tower take. Hours, and I don't think they sometimes finish until about 3 or 4 am. No wonder Wilf always looked so knackered
And I bet the banishment scenes take hours too. So what with breakfast, tasks, then banishment, then murder for the traitors, there probably isn't masses of spare time.
The trouble with being a secret couple, whether romantically or mother/son is that if discovered they'll both be seen as untrustworthy and liars so will both probably be out.
I couldn’t quite work out her reasoning behind taking against Anthony quite so much … she wanted to be in the middle of the line up because that was the safest place to be (if it worked like last series) and got the hump because he wouldn’t budge up from being safe in the middle … so from that he isn’t ’a team player’. I do love the early reasons from deciding someone is a Traitor (you changed from the 5 pervious seconds I spent in your company, you looked at me funny, you talk to people)
I Iove her jumper and kilt outfit.
They really do have the look and whole aesthetic of the programme just right.
I'm getting a bit uncomfortable with Diane's irrational dislike of Anthony tbh. As @Boring Monday says it seems wierd to make the leap from 'I don't like you' to 'therefore you must be a traitor'. She basically said he was 'rude' to her in the line up, before traitors were even selected, so why base any judgement on that?

Yes! And surely by trying to barge him out of the way because SHE wanted to be in the middle meant that she was the very thing she’d accused him of being.
Definitely. Deciding he was a traitor based on something happened before the traitors were chosen and making it about his personality was really uncomfortable viewing. Not how the game is played. And I was definitely feeling very conscious of the race aspect, as I’m sure was Anthony.

Agree. I didn't really want to go down the race route but she looks at him with such dislike. Her logic for him being a traitor is whack. He was rude to her in the lineup and has been rude (according to her) ever since. Therefore he hasn't changed at all If he suddenly became smarmy and nice that would be more suspicious surely?
I'm rewatching series 1 because I didn't see every episode and it's making me laugh because they all ganged up on one person for the first banishment and, even though they said they wouldn't do the same for the second banishment, they ended up doing exactly that.
Also, some of them really struggle to spell names...
I actually think it's a really hard game for the faithful because they don't really get much chance to suss out traitors. So their reasoning is all silly things like "he seemed a bit different" or "he asked me lots of questions about my job". I know they have to come up with reasons, but some of them are so flimsy it's laughable. Also, on most of the tasks everyone is motivated to do well because the bigger the prize pot is, the better for everyone. So there's no chance for the faithful to gain intel.
Finally, I think taking out a traitor early on isn't actually a good thing because the producers will likely get the traitors to recruit someone else and then you can't use past knowledge because the new traitor was a faithful for longer than they were a traitor. It's such a good programme, though!
I know they want to keep their mother/son relationship quiet but it won't last, I still remember when Tom last year screamed "she's not a traitor shes my girlfriend" so that didnt last. Not disappointed in who has left yet really. Can't believe Harry and Paul betraying Ash!! Miles better watch out now... absolutely hated the cliffhanger, I cant wait until Wednesday!!
Despite the ep being out already, I presume we’re still alright with live chatting during the ep tonight? I do love a giggle at tattle comments during a show.
Just binged all 3 now hating myself I have to wait for the next lot!
