It’s not that amazing! On transatlantic trips or long haul they maybe get 24hrs in a destination. They get put up in nice hotels yes and they get cash in hand as pocket money while they are away. But that’s it. The starting salary is dog tit and there are flights where there is no layover - so sometimes she won’t see much more than the inside of an airport. It’s really not as glamorous or exotic as she’s trying to make out!!!

Its also very comission based with onboard sales.

What is starting salary because that still sounds pretty good to me- I'm too old and ugly to do it myself!

I think Tiktok has glamourised being a flight attendant with some of the accounts making out that it’s all nice flights and looking glam, but it is hard work, people on planes are not always pleasant, you deal with time zones, the impact flying has on your body and the pay is not all that. I give her 6 months. She couldn’t cope as a nurse, what makes her think having to cope with the great public cooped up in metal in the sky any better? Also most airlines are super strict about social media so she won’t be able to share her job or anything like that.

Something can be your passion but you can still say it's a tit wage. The two things aren't mutually exclusive. You can't pay bills with passion. When I was a Care worker I used to hear "that must be so rewarding" unfortunately that feeling didn't put food on my table eveynight. Everyone deserves a proper wage.
