The Jury Murder Trial - Channel 4

I watched all 3 episodes available online. Anyone know when the next one will be on?

The jury definitely haven’t been picked at random, they all have some sort of experience they can relate to. I can see how opinions change when they get different sides from the defence/prosecution but for me, using a hammer THREE times is murder surely?

I was amazed at some of the jurors saying 'oh John looked so sad. I'm changing my mind about him' 🤦‍♀️
I didn’t understand this, they’re all actors aren’t they? But the case is real.

wtf is with the crying woman’s theory? There’s only his word she called him fat and lazy. If she did say that, it was maybe with the intention to upset him but that doesn’t mean she’s “asking for” murder.

They were talking about the programme to the makers on Radio 4 earlier. Yes they got the jurors through requests on social media, and then selected them picking some outgoing characters and some quieter ones.
The interviewer asked if there was a concern they'd 'act up' as they knew it was on TV. The maker said possibly at the beginning but it was filmed over 10 days and they never knew where the cameras were.

I think the reference to “random” in episode 1 means the selected jurors were SPLIT into two juries at random but they worded it cleverly to make it sound like all the participants were chosen at random.

Agree with PPs about how awful some of these jurors seem. Like FFS why would you say some of these things out loud!

I also think they’ve got the jury wearing the same clothes every day so they can mess around in the edit with some of the comments in the jury room / reactions in court.

Yes they're swallowing his version hook, line and sinker. And as you say, she could've called him all the names under the sun and it still wouldn't justify it imo.
And why didn't he walk away when she was apparently shouting and throwing things at him?

the fact he couldn't articulate 1 sentence she said that drove him to kill her speaks volumes to me, sounds like making tit up to 'justify' the hammer blows.
I remember hearing something interesting before, that people think of premeditated murder as planning a murder, or at least waking up that morning ready to kill someone when it can actually be the split second decision of picking up that hammer, as in, you know a hammer is dangerous, you know hitting someone in the head with a hammer is dangerous, that split second could be charged as premeditated, not sure how legally true that is though.

If you strangle someone and then hit them over the head 3 times with a hammer, I cannot see how that isn't murder, you've bloody changed methods midway through, what were you hoping to achieve?
