Up to 70% of the UK has the cold sore virus, maybe she should be more cautious but 70% of new parents aren't avoiding kissing their babies. If she doesn't have an active cold sore then it lessens the risk, it's also recommenced to kiss the baby's head (like she's doing) instead of their mouths
