This is a very general question but is anyone gonna feel sorry for her if it goes south? I won’t because she’s a completely different person to Hazel who I believed was humble and genuinely wanted to make a difference. The monetising of the food medic and her various niche programmes amongst everything else has changed it for me

To be fair the whole aspartame cancer risk is not robust evidence… cancer research UK says - “There is no convincing evidence that artificial sweeteners such as aspartame cause cancer.
Ingredients in food and drink in the UK are tightly regulated. The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) have set an acceptable daily intake (ADI) for aspartame. It equals around 14 cans of diet fizzy drink for a person who weighs around 70kg. This is more cans than most people would have in one day.”

So unless people are having a large amount each day, there’s nothing to be concerned about.

THIS. Dose matters when considering toxicity. Without wanting to take this thread too off topic, I have a scientific background and the reporting on the WHO / IARC report was incredibly misleading. The assessment only looked at the potential for aspartame to cause cancer and the evidence was limited so it was put in the “possibly carcinogenic” category, two below “carcinogenic to humans” and “probably carcinogenic” - the same category includes aloe vera and pickled vegetables.

I really believe that part of her decision was motivated by her trying to rush David into serious commitment.

‘I’m running out of time David! I need to freeze my eggs’…and David does not seem like the type of man to do too much personal research into female biology .
