Sounds to me like they are giving John and his company the middle finger for not making this a working trip and paying for their flights, hotels, etc. If John wanted RunDisney content, he should have been willing to to pay for it. Do John and Kevin pay for their own ABDs and cruises when they don't make a vlog or other content about them? Maybe, but I bet the IRS would like to know for sure.

And even that belies how stupid those two are. Magi is just the kind of self-serving duck that would tit-can both of them in a second, particularly when they aren't generating any revenue but find time to give him the virtual bird. When Ryno is sitting in his man-child cave unemployed, surrounded by his Funko collection, writing his Pete essay and weeping softly into a Loungefly backpack, he can reflect on the fact that he has no skill set and had the one job that he was marginally qualified to perform. And he blew it.

He did talk about it toward the beginning of last week's live on his personal channel but no photo/video. He emphasized that it was 100% self-funded (his DL pass, flight, hotel etc.), that he and Craig wanted to enjoy, and that he wants to keep work and vacation separate (not his exact words). Someone asked about D23 this August and he says he's not sure if they're covering it for the DIS. He says he went last year (100% self-funded) and that after the fact they wanted to use content he had filmed for himself. Doesn't sound like there's a whole lot of pre-planning going on (shocking, I know) and I can't blame him for feeling like if he's covering it for work then work should be paying for at least some of it (disclaimer - I have no idea how their compensation works in terms of salary or hourly, paid per video, vacation time etc.). I get so frustrated with them not even doing the basics - have a content calendar and a plan of who's doing what. It's not rocket science. I'm not sure if it's a case of no one really feeling like they have the authority/ownership to do so or if it's a general indifference or lack of experience in project managing/organizing teams or all of the above.

What is the point of a travel agent? With Dreams you literally have to fill out an online form & wait for someone on commision to get back to you after a few days with a price. And if you want to make an amendment you have to wait a few more days (or forever judging by some of their reviews). That is how the internet was in the late 90s. It just seems to add in a layer of unnecessary bureaucracy, I really can't see the point of them nowadays.
 
I 100% not using your personal money to fund company advertisements.

HOWEVER, I think that really cuts to the heart of why DisUnplugged/Unlimited will never be a successful YouTube channels. Most successful channels are passion projects and the content is owned by the creator(s). So, the creators put everything they have into it because this is "their thing". The Dis was Pete's thing and now it is John's thing (by default). If Craig was an owner of this, I don't think the content would look like it does today.

The boards are the same way. It seems like Corey is always apologizing for the way things are run because of "reasons" and things that are out of his control. To repeat, the "President of the Dis" has no control over how the boards are run. If there was ever a symbolic job title, this is the perfect example.

John Magi is the common factor in all of this. He has no idea what he is doing when it comes to social media and most likely doesn't care. He is waiting for the clock to run out to collect his big payout check if/when Dreams Unlimited is sold.

DVC Fan has solid DVC content so if you can tolerate the main characters over there, then that’s a good resource. When the Pete crap hit the fan they parted ways very quickly and ran full steam ahead without him.

A few weeks ago they said they ordered custom desks for the new studio and those were taking longer than expected to arrive. And then it came out that they hadn't even ordered chairs yet. At the time they said it would be a few more weeks but it's now been that and no additional update and still on Zoom so who knows.
