Can I just squeeze in before it's too late that today was The Day of the Dog here in Italy. Hmm, sounds better in Italian 'La Giornata del Cane or maybe it's World Dog Day? unfortunately my dog days are over but it's been a pleasure to see how the media have given over a lot of time encouraging people to adopt rescue dogs, or entreating them not to abandon their pets to go on holiday or neglect them in any way. In recent years they have pushed through laws making it a crime to do any of the above so even an owner who leaves a dog in a car in the heat is liable to sanctions. Hope the penny is sinking in.
PS What about that Vuiton bag with little air or light used for carrying Dog2

Thank you (with hugs) for the recommendations. ❤ I haven't read them. I don't really read that much WW1 historical fiction. They are perhaps a bit too close to home. When work intrudes completely into leisure time, I go a bit stir crazy. However, I can highly recommend Parades End by Ford Maddox Ford.

I read mostly ancient historical fiction (murder, mystery, thrillers, war oriented plots) including the authors, Lindsey Davis, Ruth Downie, Marilyn Todd, Simon Scarrow, Linda S. Robinson, John Maddox Roberts, Steven Saylor and S.J.A. Turney - Rome, Greece and ancient Egypt. There are far too many authors to list. I read, or listen to Medieval fiction and Early Medival (Dark Ages) Maurice Druon is a favourite, as is Ellis Peters and Paul Doherty, Michael Jecks, S.J.Paris, Conn Iggulden, Robyn Young, and Umberto Eco. But my favourite books of that period are the Warlord Chronicles by Bernard Cornwall. I absolutely love them! Anything involving crusades, Knights Templar, plague, peasants revolts, the English and French snapping at each others heels and making life a complete witch for each other, 100 years War, 30 Years War, Rift War, Vikings, the Norman's, the Mongols, the Ottomans, and the Mamluks, and anything by author Giles Milton. I also read much set during the Peninsula Wars, French Revolution and during Napoleon's conquests. I am a bit if a Russophile and read Russian history for fun. Love love love Mughal history too and any novel set in India. Sea of Poppies by Amitav Ghosh is a firm favourite. I read a lot of fiction and non-fiction set during the Raj of the East India Company, the Opium Wars, any book by William Dalrymple, and Japan's Edo period - another favourite being The 1000 Autumns of Jacob De Zoet by David Mitchell.

I rarely read fantasy or steam punk, or sci-fi, but do love the books of Scott Lynch (The Lies of Locke Lamora) and Joe Abercrombie (The First Law). I don't read horror or spy thrillers. If I was forced to choose a favourite author, it would be Sir Terry Pratchett... because, without a doubt, his Diskworld series is the perfect parody of all of the above.
You’ve reminded me of the two Charles Todd WW1 series’, Ian Rutledge and Bess Crawford. They are shared universes with crossover characters. I really enjoy the sense of time and atmosphere the authors create. I used to read a lot of dystopian fiction but given the state of the world in the past 15 years that’s fallen by the wayside.

What??????? I had no idea there was going to be 10. I’m so excited. I started reading those in the 90s and then the series came out very exciting although you know how it is when you read a book and then you watch the series you’re always looking for your favorite part in the book and it never comes and then you always trash that series. lol
Diana takes years to write a "big" book so this one could be out in 2025/26.... She also writes smaller ones at the same time. She is the same age as me and I hope she is looking after her health.
The series was going to be a movie in the beginning. I am so glad they changed their minds. There would be a very clever script writer/director to put as much detail into the series as are in the books. I view the book and series as separate entities so I am not disappointed if there are differences.
I am just annoyed that they split the series seven into two parts. And the last series has already been filmed and there ain't gonna be any more <sad face>.

That may be taken at the Richmond’s new home in the south of France.
It may be or perhaps it could be in the garden of their teeny tiny house that they rent. As 2 tons and tonton have recently arrived at Liarland it is unlikely that Nutti and Annemarie have travelled South but then who knows. With that lot of tossers anything goes.
Fanny is busy getting out her widow’s weeds for the drama of the ashes whilst Nutti is pouring herself into a virginal white ensemble. Which one will steal the show?

How many times has Stephanie used an excuse of sorrow to get out of making videos for a few days? She took several days off after her control by chaos Ratso death shitshow videos were released, complete with watering eyes, no makeup, and wearing old clothing, trying to seek pity from viewers. She is busy backtracking, trying to do damage control, since she immediately went out and purchased another teeny tiny dog to use as a new money maker, and tried to erase the memory of neglected and abused Ratso 1.0. She forgot to hide her callousness Towards animals when she made that mistake. She’s posted a cleaned up image of the dog.

The gruesome twosome are in heavy damage control at the moment. Loser Philip has been busy posting on the tattle dog video under several fake accounts.

stop encouraging gifts - how much tit are people still sending post-Crapeaux? Who the hell sent 4 boxes of dates?

Discouraging gifts is something I have implemented in my own life. A while ago, after discussing it with my husband I told our relatives and a friend that we no longer wanted to exchange Christmas gifts. My reasoning is we have enough stuff; I am sick of receiving token gifts that are given because it's expected; most of these people have grandchildren on which they can better spend their money instead of us. The relatives were all fine about it but the friend, not so much. She was offended. She is actually the one who gives me the strangest gifts as she said I am hard to buy for. The last gift she gave me was a very large, very heavy, shallow, metal, rectangular, perforated crate thing 'for the garden'. I have no idea what it is or how to use it. Even her husband let slip that he didn't know what Gertrude Maud was going to use it for. It has been sitting, propped up against the side of the house since just before covid.

I thought all she had to do was edit - not film - isn't she, in her own words, a week ahead?! 🧐🧐

Now that Fall is just around the corner. I was curious about the progress for the new heating system for the Chateau?

Before the restorers are gone, maybe they can have a go at the large kitchen cabinet? Just an idea.

What is this bizarre obsession with not letting your mother work? Elderly people need to stay active for their health. It's people who stop moving who become decrepit and die (you see? I don't do cooing. And I hope your wonderful mother lives forever).

Hi Stephanie, I've been a subscriber for a few years. But thr reading I'm commenting is because, I m subscribed to many channels, one of which is an urben Explorer, from England, and he's just done his first ever Chateau. Now the reading I'm really asking you to watch this video is that the abandoned Chateau has a chapel, that is so so similar to yours, the colours and style. Now I'm not saying it's by the same person, but please look ,you may even recognise the Chateau. Do let me know if you find out anything. Lots of love Tina, from UK

I looked up the channel. Click the video below, it is cued up to start at the chapel inside the abandoned house In France. The chapel is small but has detailed Stainglass windows and a decorative interior ceiling, etc. The chapel was built in 1889. It is in fantastic shape compared to the chapel of the dump.
