Thank you Gracie. At university I volunteered at the humane society shelter as we couldn’t have pets in the dorms. I saw firsthand how most people only wanted puppies or very young dogs. It was heartbreaking to see the hope in the older dog’s eyes only to be passed over. I would’ve taken every one of them home if I could. One if my goals in retirement is to adopt as many as I can care for.

This is why I can’t volunteer, I did at The boys & girls club for a few years just kept buying stuff for the kids as I could not take them home. But old dogs!! Sigh I love my old man, I’d have a hundred if I could!!!
