My grandmum's were serrated as well, which I always thought was odd, as she pre-sectioned my grapefruit for me. Apparently, I am uncouth, as I use a $3 Pampered Chef hard plastic citrus peeler tool that I bought in the 90s, and prefer to eat grapefruit like an orange in sections while standing over my kitchen sink. (Grapefruit is expensive these days, even in Florida- I am going to enjoy every last bite!)
