I guess we only see the edited highlights so maybe they’d been conversations behind the scenes which was why Karen knew what the other team picked

They didn’t have an alternative but to offer Noor the option, and yes I am sure the swap was in place before we saw the edited clip. Reflects badly on the project manager who, it would seem, hadn’t taken Noor’s religious choices into consideration.
 
I’ve noticed that both teams can’t do the same tour anyway so the only other option for them would bet be boat one.
That’s the only annoying thing about the show; they are genuinely very limited with what they can do so whilst we sit at home calling them stupid etc it must be frustrating. I heard that you are only allowed to use certain colours on branding tasks and that you don’t really get a proper choice. Suppose it’s all for entertainment. The producers know which business plan they want to invest in at the start. Can’t believe the pie man is still in…
 
It hadn’t really occurred to me before because of the way the PM phrases it and what the voiceover says but they can’t have more than one option these days as the boat woman was standing by already to do negotiations and the boat has to be free for the next day. Production must pre-book the tours otherwise imagine the logistics of keep having to go to places and ask if they’ve got availability to host tours the next day and getting all the filming permissions etc sorted.
 
Tbf to the candidates too, the graphic designers they give them are naff. I maintain this. I work in comms but am not a graphic designer at all, but free software like Canva and I can make something look good, and whilst the candidates sometimes have naff ideas I do think the designers on the show are naff.

Seems a bit unfair, maybe the boat tour team could have sold souvenirs or photographs or something?

They sold boxes of strudel at the end, I don’t know the price difference between a bottle of wine and a box of strudel though so I can’t say if it was a fair situation or not.
 
It been clear for a while - but especially so this year as they've shown them explicitly - that most of these types of tasks are "pick options out of a binder" and try to avoid the traps production have set for you.

For example, the two tours would have been pre-booked (possibly with other unseen alternatives), same with the locations of the food-selling tasks. The theming for the corporate cheesecakes, games, cereal etc. would have been preselected options to enable them to have materials, graphics, costumes, music etc. ready. There's very little scope for the PMs / teams to actually have outside-the-box ideas these days; production wants a streamlined, no-surprises filming schedule and doesn't care about making the candidates look stupid in the process because it "makes good telly".

Also, if I was the PM for this task, knowing it was a profit-maximising task, clearly the wine tour with its higher RRP and opportunity to upsell expensive wine beats the mass-market, generic city boat tour (that in the real world have to rely on sales volume to stay competitive). And I certainly wouldn't hamper my own chance at an investment / task win to cater to the needs of a fellow contestant - Noor can stay at the hotel for 2 days for all the work she actually puts into tasks!

I dont think it reflects badly on the project manager at all as she was focused on making money. Noor's religious beliefs are nothing to do with anyone else. The best option was for her to swap teams.

I bet they were glad to get rid of her as she adds nothing and didn't even even know where they were 🙄 She's just a token Muslim woman IMO, it's a shame the production team couldn't find someone better.

It really seemed like she hadn’t heard of Budapest 😧 She was literally like “where are we- ah yes buda-past”

Not sure Islam doesn’t let you be around alcohol anyway- it doesn’t let you SELL it or drink it but sure Noor could just have avoided those two tiny elements. My Muslim friend comes to the pub and has a soft drink. I guess she couldn’t do a task where her team and therefore herself rewarded from its sale though. Correcting myself 😆

The fact that she seemingly knew nothing about where they were irritated me. I don't care if she doesn't want to be around alcohol as that's her choice.
