It's most interesting that the media stories of ER's surgery/injuries changes from minor procedure last year when she had it done to this year's version of having to use mobility scooter n having surgery on every corner of the body. She's a decent player who should do well with a good draw but the media should really tone down on the overhype and exaggeration.

For the first 2 days, court 1 matches are way better than centre court. I know she is local favourite but no.98 vs no.135 in the world, even if there is obvious bias scheduling, should be on the smaller show courts.

Decided to listen to Wimbledon radio via the app on my walk home from work.

Had the displeasure of having to listen to the interviewer speak to Alison Hammond, who said that:
- She was at Wimbledon but the tennis had gone over her head
- She watched the Alcaraz match but wasn’t staying to watch Emma
- The best part of her day was a burger for lunch. As these things “are about the food really”

I’m sure tennis fans who haven’t got tickets this year would be DELIGHTED to hear that 😡

Anyway Andreeva in a bit of trouble on Court 12 but has just broken back. Hope she comes through, I really like her attitude
The brands that fund these people should be named and shamed. I bet she was given a couple of tickets for centre court and they were empty all day apart from when she quickly popped on to get a photo.

There has to be a better much way for the brands to do things that don't screw over the people that are actually interested in tennis.

The media have done nothing but knock her. She did have surgery on both wrists and her ankle.

Andy has withdrawn 😪

There was about a 0.1% chance Andy would be doing the singles, I guess the mentality of a top player is to never give up the hope.

At least with the short doubles matches there's the potential of getting through a couple of rounds.
Will all the Wimbledon chat be here this year or is there another separate thread for it like there was in previous years? 🎾 🍓
That's a good point, I'm not sure if there's a 2024 thread. I might bump the last one to say we are chatting about Wimbledon here (y)

Yes, she did have surgery on both wrists n her ankle but they were all stated as minor procedures last year, even by herself. Somehow this year, the stories have become having to use mobility scooter n having surgery on every corner of the body, making it sound more serious than what was claimed last year. Just putting the facts out there.
