They’re a lot more accurate if you have regular growth scans, I had one at 37 weeks and he was estimated as 5lbs6oz, he was born 5 days later weighing 5lbs6oz

Interesting to know. Mine was just done randomly after reduced movements but was completely wrong. I love hearing the different baby weights it blows my mind how everyone is so different.

The last scan was a fetal medicine scan so a bit more in depth, maybe that’s why it was so accurate. I did have a bad experience with my first of having a growth scan while in labour and they predicted he would be at least 9lbs, he came out at a tiny 6lbs10 6 hours later😂

Did you get a fright when you realised he wasn’t 9 pound?🤣they kept saying how big mine was going to be and I remember being in utter shock thinking wtf when he was 6 pound 4🤣🤣🤣

I had growth scans every 2 weeks for 10 weeks and fetal checks (blood flow etc) every week inbetween, there really inaccurate and I don’t think they should be giving people growths scans as much as they do, just causes unnecessary panic

My and my fiancé were so shocked when this little tiny baby was placed on my chest, I was expecting a huge baby😂

I do agree they are sometimes unnecessary, in my case it saved my youngest life as his growth completely stopped, I had poly which wasn’t diagnosed until my final scan. I was booked for a home birth after having one with my second, if I had gone into labour naturally at home and they had missed all these problems, he probably wouldn’t be here today due to the risk of cord prolapse from my poly

I agree them growth scans are not accurate at all, had a scan on my due date and they told me she was going to come out at 9lb (I had a tiny bump so I knew that wasn’t right) and they also told me she didn’t look like she was coming anytime soon, came out 2 days later 5lb 15oz🤣🤣
