Having seen the state of maternity services when I had my baby 6 weeks ago, they can barely care for those that need it, I don’t think she’d be kept in unless clinically indicated 😂
Maternity services are stretched at the best of times but September is literally the busiest month to have a baby.. Valentine’s Day was 9 months ago🙈 mat services are a very scary place to be at the minute. My sister called a category 1 ambulance for a patient (she’s a midwife) so mother and baby at risk. It took over an hour to come, it should be like ten minutes I think. Really scary. In my area though if you go in 3 times saying you have reduced movements they have to offer you induction

She said she was contracting though not that she had reduced movements. Which would obviously be backed up by CTGs etc. I could barely get one to one care during active labour when I had my baby and they were about to transfer women over to a neighbouring trust. Healthcare as a whole is a state, I left my job for exactly this reason cos you just cannot deliver the care people deserve and need 😩

same for us North East 3 episodes (in a certain time scale) of reduced movements get you an induction. I know a few who were fed up and played the system

tit yes! You’re right hahaa I should know I had my last baby last September!!!! I was sat on the ward feeling like a naughty teenager because we all knew what we’d done Christmas time 😂😂 thank you for earlier too ❤️

To be fair she said she feels fobbed off and she probably is being fobbed off. As it was stated here yesterday, maternity services are stretched to the max and underfunded sooo much!!!

To be seen these days you have to basically stand your ground and refuse to go home. It's terrible as reduced movements are usually a sign of something going on. I'd rather be there all the time than not go in/ ignore the signs and then the worst situation occurs...
