That fact she wants to compare herself it's just ridiculous. I haven't fully followed Gypsy's story but get the background. Janelle your mother raised your son when you was too busy get high and drunk ya daft cow! Plus lots of other things. I know the show cam be scripted but most of it is truthful.
You just shake your head at her. She is baffling.

All Barbara ever wanted her to do is be a good mother. From the beginning she wanted her to finish uni and just come home to help with her own child. bleeping madness some of the stuff she comes out with!

Barbara did right by Jace but she's also extremely emotionally volatile and her own kids grew up ,from the sounds of it ,exposed to severe domestic abuse with Barbara's own partners.

She's obviously not DeeDee Blanchard but I can see how she Jenelle ended up with problems regulating her own emotions and choosing low life's , which is the cause of a lot of her problems.
 
Barb is a live wire with her own issues but she tried to do the best she could with what she had. How does the way Barb raised Jenelle make Jenelle not give a tit about Jace? You could link it to past trauma but you can’t blame everything on a parent. Yes Jenelles sister has said the same but she’s off her rocker also and has sold stories on Jenelle, yet also had Barb looking after her kids for a while. Apparently their brother has said the same and I may be incorrect but I’m sure he’s got some kind of disability? The fact that Jenelle is literally glossing over the things that swamp thing has been accused of doing, not forgetting there’s been evidence that he is violent (ensley telling him not to kill the chickens, him killing the dog, being accused of assaulting Jenelle and kaisers bruises) and to keep harping on about her mother is bizarre. Don’t get me wrong I think Barb was far from the perfect parent but I just don’t understand how Jenelle works out in her own mind that this is the correct response to what is happening with Jace

The thing is maybe I see it differently because I grew up around violence and bullshit and so have a lot of people I know.. I have a safe steady home now and have been a good parent who always puts my child first. I get people have reasons for things but there’s plenty of people who grow up in situations and become good parents. I don’t think having a tit mother is an excuse to be one yourself. If anything you learn the things not to do. She has exposed her son to so much trauma from day one 😢
