If I was pregnant and had a strong preference for a boy or girl I 100% wouldn’t do a gender reveal because they are bloody painful to watch when you can tell the parents aren’t happy!!!
My sister really wanted a girl (like, strongly wanted a girl) so she didn’t find out the sex until baby was born. She had a boy and she’s told me she’s glad she didn’t find out because as soon as she saw him she fell in love and didn’t give him being a boy a second thought… where as if she’d found out in pregnancy she’d have felt some disappointment.
 
This may be an unpopular opinion and I apologize in advance to anyone on here that’s had a gender reveal before but I think at this point they are majorly over done😬I guess I’m just old fashioned but I just want to find out the gender when I’m getting my scan and then when people ask I’ll tell lol but like someone else said if you clearly have a preference on the sex of the baby, why have a gender reveal when you know there’s a 50/50 chance you’re not gonna be happy? And also it’s a rainbow baby they should be delighted either way

Exactly the same for me!! I always thought I didn't want boys, I had a girl first and was over the moon. Everyone kept asking if I'd find out the sex with my 2nd and I was like naaaa, but I just didn't wanna hear it was a boy. I have to say, there was absolutely no disappointment when he was born, and my 3rd was a boy too and I love thst my daughter is my bestie to do shoping and gossiping with, and my boys are SO lush and loving ❤
 
Didn't she say they knew the sex already? I could be wrong but I thought she'd addressed that and would make sense that that's why they're not overjoyed.
 
I’m appalled. Please (if you haven’t already) watch her stories and look at the video of them doing the reveal outdoors with no music. Clearly they had told everyone they how much they wanted a boy because when the pink confetti came out nobody clapped or cheered they all just said “oh” and then laughed. I’m actually disgusted more so because this is such a precious little baby after a miscarriage and they couldn’t look more disappointed. Some people try their who lives for a baby or go through so much hardship to get one and would be happy with a girl or boy it wouldn’t matter to them and Megan and Tel looked like they got told the worst news ever. Maybe I’m over reacting but that’s really after rubbing me the wrong way.

they did a balloon and the outside cannons, looked like the balloon was first and the cannons second? I wouldn’t expect a big reaction for both (not saying there was a big reaction either way) but yeah..
 
Also, from a psychology A level 15ish years ago 🤣🤣🤣 …
When the balloon popped and pink confetti came out, both Megan and Tel hugged but facing away from the crowd and cameras, either consciously or subconsciously hiding their faces. Also they didn’t rush to hug each other there were a few seconds to process the news and then they both hid their initial reaction.

Don’t do a gender reveal if there’s a 50% chance you’re going to be disappointed.
 
I think they did 2 reveals, I remember from teen mom that lots of Megan's family members don't get on. It looks like first reveal with the balloon is when they found out themselves, they were obviously disappointed and the hug away from the camera was them trying to console each other. I think the second one their family members were disappointed but Megan and tel already knew. Gender disappointment is real and normal, once the baby's born you forget that you even had a preferred gender. I personally would never do a gender reveal for that reason.
 
I personally don't see the point of gender reveals either I did find out by the 20 week scan for both of mine and just told people when I saw them

I saw someone recently on instagram who had a reveal and then found out weeks after that it was wrong 😂 I've known that happen with scans but it's the only time I've seen it actually happen with a reveal , I don't know the back story of how it happened though like whether an error was made by the sonographer or the people they bought the gender reveal stuff from mixed it up or something
 
I can hold my hands up and say I was disappointed when I found out I was having a boy. Had wanted another girl. Wish I hadn’t found out because when he was born I fell in love with him instantly and all the earlier disappointment and worry of having a boy disappeared. Personally I didn’t think they looked disappointed 🤣 maybe I didn’t watch closely enough. But I’d feel awkward all the attention on me too so never did a reveal just found out at the scan
