Taylor Swift Not Rave #2 Her albums have more variants than COVID

It's beyond a joke at this point.

There are enough photos of the tour on her socials - no more trees need be cut down for this, maybe people could expand their horizons if they want a $40 coffee table book. I can live without ever knowing her reflections.

Yet another version of a mid album. Oh joy. It's not as bad as Justin or Katies, but all her other contemporaries released far better ones. Time to let it go.

Have to say if it is true it shows how selfish she and the people around her are. Oh, there was a terror plot targeting your concert and specifically the fans there? Nah babe, WE are the ones who need enhanced protection and have to start threatening to axe shows if it's not provided - even if enhanced protection would be provided at the venues and in the city itself because of heightened risk to the general public

To demand public funded security that's reserved for heads of state sounds about right for Taylor and her team. For politicians to pander to these requests and force changes on protocol is equally unsurprising.

Looks like loads of public money was wasted by the government fighting and overturning the police. Could still be more fallout for politicians in the UK on this.

This is bleeping insane, she's a billionaire, she can afford to step up her own security ffs. Plus, she was never the target, her fans were.

It's actually embarrassing that people who run a country thought this would be in any ways okay when the schools and hospitals are in such a state. And to be bribed by tickets to her show?? Pathetic.
 
Why she couldn't pay for private security is beyond me, there is already enough Police being deployed for Match/Concert days at Wembley without her using more!

Just a note on the private vs. police security (I only know this due to a Prince Harry lawsuit): Private security are not privy to the information the MET has about (planned, suspected) terror attacks. And they aren't allowed to wear firearms. I'd say considering the impact of her concerts on the economy, it more or less paid for itself. It's not a good look, but any other government would've probably done the same. Boris would've insisted on chauffeuring her personally.

I see your point in terms of it paying for itself in the long run, but the impacts on the economy are not instant, increase in tax from increases in revenue s for businesses is not payable until 2026 for example. The only personal who really made money on those days was TS.

The Met already has the area around Wembley on Lockdown, you can't get near the place by car. They are watching and profiling people constantly. There is no need for TS to have personal protection by the Met.

This. I get so eye rolly about the oft quoted cash injection into the economy, as if it’s instantaneous.

Edinburgh Council has introduced a levy on promoters because of the impact on the community in terms of additional policing large scale events etc. If Taylor wants security, she should pay. She’s nothing special and any attacks were never targeted at her, rather her fans.
 
She has her private security but as someone said they’re not really the same as police protection. I think I mentioned it already but Prince Harry wanted to pay for his own security from the police and wasn’t allowed to either, guess you just have to offer the government some freebies

on the subject of freebies - what’s this about Starmer getting the tickets for free from Taylor Swift the brand as a form of thanks and then paying them back? I heard it on the news this morning but haven’t had the time to have a look
 
I think the fact that the met when through their process considered it all and denied the VVIP treatment. Then were forced to after inept politicians like Sadiq Khan stuck their nose following Andrea Swift threatening to cancel the concerts says it all.

The police decisions should be free of interference from politicians and commercial interests.

The "it made money" argument is irrelevant in terms of protocol. Most the money made was by the multinationals (like hotels increasing the prices of rooms) who pay little tax and the money isn't multiplied into the economy or shared with the little people.

If there was something going on, the Met would have informed her team, it didn't need officers to be with her. They (TS's Team) clearly just didn't like the fact that they were not allowed to carry guns around the UK like they do in the US.

Harry is different, he wanted the same security a working Royal gets, and was prepared to pay for it. They said no as they are not 'for sale'. (Yet TS proves here they are, but just worth a couple of freebies!)
 
One thing I really respect the British for is money and celebrity doesn't usually trump everything. When Kim K was in London and wanting tickets to an event at Buckingham Palace she was politely told no as it didn't work like that.

The police share information, they decided it wasn't needed and that should have been the end.

I wonder muma Swift demanded it as she thought Taylor deserved to be treated the same as a president?
