I don’t believe this article at all. One of the reasons I stayed away from the thread after I listened to TTPD was because I couldn’t handle the Matty slander and ‘who’s this song about’ conversations.

In my opinion, they had been having an emotional affair for a long time and thought they’d end up together, the timing felt right as she wasn’t happy with Joe. I do think they both lovebombed each other but after 6 years in a relationship which sounds like the commitment was lacking, she probably moved particularly fast with Matty.
I think he loved her and I think he had to leave her because of what was happening with her fans. She probably wanted to stay friends and he couldn’t and therefore she feels ghosted.

Obviously just my opinion but I’m right 🤣

Someone on the Facebook page shared this video of the stage up at Murrayfield. Slightly panicking about the sound tower as I’m in W9 and it looks very in front but otherwise, eeeek so exciting!

This is why I’m sure it’s fake news. Matty has always spoke respectfully of Taylor and if he was going to say anything like this he would have said it when the album dropped. Yet all he said was I’m sure it’s good.

I think as well people have a tendency to take her lyrics as gospel but most of it is probably hyperbole and partly fictional for the story telling.
I think she convinced herself that they were soulmates or whatever so she felt less bad about cheating on Joe

I think all this too which is why if the quote is true I find it so disappointing. Like just a way to say ‘I really never actually gave a fuck about you’.

I just think reading that would make me spiral a bit were I in her position, al though it seems like she thinks she meant nothing to him in the end from the songs. ‘Something counterfeit’s dead’ 🥲

I think he has a huge amount of respect for her and probably feels very guilty he hurt her that badly. Just another case of a fake headline to make Matty a villain.
