Can’t believe I’ve only just discovered my love for Taskmaster! I tried to get into it during the lockdown series but didn’t really like it/understand the concept. Loving the current series and just watched series 4 which had me laughing out loud! Going to spend the rest of my maternity leave binge watching all of them 😄

It's close for final, except Judy. Can believe she stuffed up her final live task so thoroughly.
She really irritated me to start with but I now find her hilarious. This series cast has been one of the best in years. I expected to dislike Chris Ramsey, but I just can’t, I love them all. I’d never heard of Bridgette or Sophie before but they’re both also brilliant

This is one of the better series of recent, but I'm not sure if it just 'feels' better because of less social distancing and having a studio audience?
Comedians need an audience to bounce off to be at their best, I always think, and people like Lee Mack and Johnny Vegas were noticeably subdued in the studio portions without an audience. Imagine doing a pun or witticism in that great big theatre set and it's only met with dead silence, how awful!

And also, not being able to do a team task without getting close to your teammate (or to abuse poor Alex Horne) did not help. It was very obvious that a lot of the tasks had to be hastily reworked for Seasons 10/11, and they became needlessly complex as a result. The conditions would suck a bit of life out of anything, nevermind such a tactile show as this.

They did their very best to overcome it -and some of the people on the last couple series were magnificent (Mike Wozniak in particular is a Top Five contestant of all time), but it works so much better with an audience and with a fellow contestant right next to you in order to give a commiserating pat on the back as your failure is displayed for all to see on that great big screen.

The duck challenge was a great example of why this show works so well: everyone approaches matters slightly differently, and with very interesting results
  • The boys attacked it straight on, followed the rules, no thoughts, only running (like a pair of joyful golden retriever puppies in a park), and it worked well enough.
  • Sophie considered the problem, and adjusted the parameters in an elegant way, forcing Alex into a loop and ensuring she could move the ducks with minimum effort whilst still staying within the rules of the task
  • Bridget also spotted a loophole and abused it in a slightly less elegant way, but forgot one of the critical rules, as she so often did when under pressure.
  • And Judi just bulldozed her way through matters with brute strength and a frankly alarming indifference to the safety of both Alex Horne and his bicycle.
It was great, it was like some sort of psychology test to determine what kind of personality type you have.
