Taskmaster #2 Are you a child of divorce?

One of the end of the show tasks was a team task too, where they had to name film titles. I’m not really feeling it this series either. I like Sophie and nick, I don’t mind the rest but there doesn’t seem to be much chemistry between all of them in the studio. The tasks have been just ok too, no stand outs so far.

I'm really struggling to enjoy this series, which is a bit of a strange feeling because I've been hoping that Steve Pemberton or Reece Shearsmith would one day be on Taskmaster.

It feels as if there is no rapport between the contestants, they just don't seem to give across a feeling of being comfortable with each other.

I think John is a problem. He seems very invested in trying to work the task out and look for the catch, rather than just getting on with it.

Like some others I know & like John from listening to his radio show with Elis (though I preferred it back in the radio X days) so his competitiveness doesn't bother me much. He and Alex also also very endearing on their shared youtube channel about golf. But I can totally see finding him irritating too.

I do think there's not as much camaraderie as some other seasons (I loved S9 for that, complete with Baddiel pissing Ed off, and Rose and Ed's competitiveness, and Katie Wix and Jo Brand just having fun). I think its likely a hard thing to cast for, because you don't really know if it's going to work all five together until you're filming with the studio audience.

I've seen Joanne live and she is genuinely funny (and I went to her gig not a massive lover of her comedy), but she's not coming off great in this series IMO. Her jokes all seem very one dimensional, like tonight was all the obvious innuendo and not much else.

Love Sophie and Nick - they're both as mad as a box of frogs. Steve is so clever and witty as well. Finding John a struggle though, actually found myself hoping he wouldn't win episodes!

About 3 times Joanne made that comment about John being a gentleman and giving a woman a cushion if she was on her knees. Nobody laughed so she kept saying it, possibly thinking they hadn't heard. I'm finding her really tiresome tbh.

John’s face when he only scored 3 for his picture of Nick 🙊😂

Nick was his usual lovely self. Sometimes it’s not what he says but the way he says it, that makes him so endearing and funny.
Sophie and Nick are my favourites. Nick is a revelation. I love his wistful comments 'oh I actually thought that was good' as his latest attempt is revealed 😂
I always hoped Sophie would be good as I'd seen her on a couple of things and she seems genuinely funny and a bit of an oddball, but not in a forced 'look at me being quirky' way.
Steve is good too and seems to be enjoying himself.
John is OK but veering a bit into the Iain Sterling territory of wanting it too much.
And Joanne thinks she needs to provide a constant deadpan ironic commentary on it all which is getting tedious.
