Its funny, Sabrina is buddies with Liz Reaney, yet Liz has been very hateful over the last few years, Liz used her platform to call people out, why didn't she have a word to Liz if she's so passionate.

I support Sabrina endeavoring to envoke political action to regulate the online platforms. However, in line with her #beaccountable hashtag, it is absolutely the time that influencers and bloggers have to pay Benefit in Kind on the gifts they receive, like any other tax paying worker/business has to. Whats's more, if Sabrina is able to get a government task force set up to look at online activity and liaise with the Revenue this will enhance accountability across the industry as bloggers will be bound to be more transparent and pay their taxes like every other worker.
This gifting space is so unregulated and needs to legislated. Instagram is used as a business by influencers and just like every other business they need to pay their taxes and adhere to regulations. I hope consideration is given to this in the formation of our new government. Social media is having a negative impact on both exchequer receipts and mental health of both influencers and followers.

Any gift over £50 should be declared on what in the UK is a P11D form. It counts as income and is taxed as such, but I’m not sure how it works in Ireland.
Similarly ASA and CMS cover the UK and have many regulations regarding how and when the gifts/adverts etc should be declared and what words should be used to show viewers the truth about products hawked by these con artists.
In the UK anything that has been given to the influencer either as a straightforward gift or alongside payment should be marked #AD / #ADVERT. Influencers can add #gifted or #sponsored etc but the #AD should be first and prominent.
