Loved the pink mezzanine but it will look so cluttered with bookshelves on it. I think she’s overestimating the amount of books she has. Yes, they are cluttering her tiny bedroom atm but having three different rooms with bookshelves? I love books but even I would try to keep them to one or two rooms.

I agree, the mezzanine already feels tight and with bookshelves it'll be suffocated. I feel she's gonna realise she has way too many bookshelves and then ramp up the book hoarding even more.

that builder must be getting paid by the hour with how long its taking him!
the framing of the camera bothers me, jess is just hovering at the bottom of the screen how hard is it to move the camera down when she's talking I don't need to look and blanc walls/ceiling

If they wanted or cared for it to be done quicker then it would be done quicker. They don’t care.

She’s also not going to move in until things are perfectly finished. Most families would focus on getting plumbing and flooring and kitchen done, then you move in and keep going getting things done little and often. She’s talking about decorating box rooms & tiny details, she’s not going anywhere until every detail is seen to.

Did anyone else think the whole house looked really dark as well? Obviously they don’t have any lighting yet, but I was struggling to even see what the wall colours were. Maybe they filmed on a gloomy day, but it did feel odd to pick all these muted grey-tinged colours - the whole thing feels very cold to me. Maybe they’ll jazz it up with brighter furnishings, I did like the look of that terracotta fabric headboard thing.

Anyone else follow lilandlife page? Her hub is a builder but they moved into a house they were going to fully renovate and have worked so quickly in comparison. She wouldn't have the money that Jess has but is still particular with colours and that yet still moves so much quicker.

And like someone else has said, the tiles didn't not look like they were done very good and she noted how the builders are very good and that's why he it's okay that they are slow? Um sorry I don't think so

I was surprised that she said the bathrom is done, but when you look behind her some tiles are still missing and the finishing needs to be completed.
I agree the overall design seemed too old school and outdated. When she was showing floor plans ages ago I thought there would be much more modern elements. The unfinished tiles seemed pretty tacky.

My husband had our bathroom renovation completed in a week (including demo). The builder may be “good” but Zak must be a rubbish project manager. We had three demo guys, two plumbers, three tilers and a glazier for the shower screen. It wasn’t cheap but it was done quickly and with zero defects. Insane that this is taking them so long and it still looks rough.

Agreed but I also think Jess puts a weird filter on her videos to fit that whole grunge aesthetic. Her mum's house is the same.

They put too much money into the house. The location will not pay for this level of renovation once they decide to sell it. No one buying in that area will care if they used the original pine floorboards or if they preserved the original doors. Is Jess oblivious of the area they bought the house in?

I don’t understand this mezzanine bit at all. Is this at the top of the house or in between floors? She talks about having all her books here but it will be SO cramped for space? At least her Mum made a nice feature of her books with those shelves leading down to the kitchen. Also all that sunlight will discolour her books if she’s that precious about them…
