A couple of girls I work with went to see him when he was in Dublin. They're younger, only like 18, so we were trying to explain everything and how bad it was when those pics of Rihanna came out and they were like we know but he was still so good. I couldn't believe it. There is no way on God's green earth I could spend my money to go see someone like him. There was a story on DM the other day about how he got a girl up on stage and gave her a lap dance and he had his hand around her throat and everything, he disgusts me.

There’s a few of the Twitter girls who post like, a picture of Karen/Kai/Luba with the caption ‘they are all that matters’ or ‘you came into my life at just the right time’. It’s a bit 😬.
 
Just thinking about how the show will approach same sex pairings this year, because out of 4 celebs, there was only John who was in anyway popular with the public. I think they might be keen to get a female same sex pairing who will hopefully click with the audience, or being a massive ringer so will get a bit further than week 3 or 4

But I guess it's a case of any female celeb getting over the same hurdles they all face - having to be 'likeable', good but not too good, humble but not too humble, enthusiastic but not too enthusiastic etc etc. And then add to that all the extra scrutiny/criticism they will get if they are LGBT

I think it might be trickier to get them chemistry right here too. I don't think this is as much of an issue with the men as I can see any of the male pros (bar Gio) creating good chemistry with a male partner. Whereas some of the female pros just seem a bit too traditional (Amy, Nadiya) or twee (Dianne), and Karen and Katya would probably be ruled out. Luba or Nancy would be the best bets I reckon

It would be great to see a female same sex pairing do well, so I hope they manage it this year

A 25% success rate in terms of popular with the public is not bad.

I think there's less couples who are actually outright popular with the public than we really think.

Yes, winners are normally popular and maybe one or two other couples. But not many are actually popular couples in that way they really connect with audiences. People just enjoy the dancing.

Kelvin and Oti for example,.brilliant dancers, won on the dancing, but does anyone remember them as a pair and did anyone really care about the pairing in the same way as a John and Johannes or Rose and Gio, I don't think so.

Yeah, that's true. I think it's just because both Richie and Jayde went down like lead balloons last year, maybe the optics of it are skewed a bit

Also frustrating that they messed up partnering Richie and Gio (imo) so I just hope they don't do they same this year

Yeah, I mentioned before the one who has a running 'bit' about how her and Kai are destined to be together and he's her true love and how during the tour she shook her boobs at him from the audience and he noticed and.. :oops: . I hope they are all ok.

That lunatic Nikita is doing the Rome marathon today, two days after staying up all night with Gethin! His fitness levels are truly something else!
 
God, the way I look after a 4k jog vs Nikita glowing as he finishes a marathon! confirms my suspicion that he is not quite human: that face is TOO perfect.

Might mean nothing, but I noticed that since the Gio/Jowita split came out his two insta posts published subsequently have had zero likes or comments from the other pros/cast (there may be ones that I don't follow who have liked it so this is not scientific!). May mean nothing, but I wouldn't be shocked if he had ghosted J and others are annoyed on her behalf..
 
Happened to see a clip of John and Johannes on an old episode of Gogglebox last night.
It reminded me again just how damn good they were!

I think had Richie been paired with almost any of the other guys instead of Gio, he would have progressed a lot further in the last series. The pairings were all so perfect though, I wouldn't have changed any of the guys partners so it would probably have to be Neil 🤣
 
I feel like actually, as Richie was never destined to go miles in the competition, at least Neil would’ve been super-chuffed he wasn’t on the bench and put some effort in, unlike Gio. Yes I’m still mad about how he was treated #justiceforRichie

I don’t think Gio gets much engagement because his SM is boring AF. It’s either pictures of himself in suits or bragging about his tour or selling stuff. But it really shows up his fake followers as his engagement is crap. He also rarely supports the other pros (aside from Gorka) so why would they bother really.

I was thinking about this as well. It would be good for a female pairing to have a long run but I can't think of many celebs up for it (Steph McGovern but I think she wants to wait a couple of years until her daughter is older, expect to see her eventually though).

Not sure about the pros. The female pro lineup just isn't very good and they've already used their two most experienced female pros for it. I can honestly see Dianne being in contention. Though her style of dancing is dull, her more wacky personality might mean the show would consider her. I cannot see Amy getting it, I don't think she's against it or anything but her style is far too traditional.

Luba would be good but she doesn't really seem a priority for the show. Jowita, Lauren, Michelle and possibly even Nancy are too new.

But JoJo was paired with John for his third partner, which is the same as Nancy will be this … so I’d have her as a definite possible :)

I just wish they hadn’t wasted Karen on Jayde.
