First time watching… I’m very confused, I know the results show isn’t live and was recorded the same night as the main show, so why are they referring to “last night” instead of ‘tonight’?

Saw this on DS: interesting - bookies odds after tonight:

9/4 Nigel Harman
7/2 Bobby Brazier
5/1 Angela Scanlon
15/2 Amanda Abbington
15/2 Ellie Leach
9/1 Layton Williams
18/1 Angela Rippon
25/1 Annabel Croft
50/1 Adam Thomas
50/1 Eddie Kadi
50/1 Zara McDermott
100/1 Jody Cundy
100/1 Krishnan Guru-Murthy
100/1 Nikita Kanda

Having said that, Will was bookies' fave after week 2 last year, with Hamza only 4th...
Every website says different. Most still have Bobby at the top with Angela, Nigel & Ellie after him. I think that will remain the top 4 for most of the series, although I do feel like Bobby could drop off and I also can’t see Layton not being in the final.

Such old news and forgive me for wandering down memory lane (late night toothache and codeine) but I've just been watching all Danny Mac's routines on YT. Oh. My. God. He was amazing. Surely the best contestant ever? Plus you could see the sheer joy on Oti's face at having such a good partner.
Perfection.

Because when you watch it, they’re talking about things that that happened ‘last night’.

If they kept referring to things that happened ‘earlier this evening’ it would make no sense in the context of the point at which it is broadcast. Same as if Jools Holland’s Hootenanny made reference to the random date in early December on which it is filmed, or if any other prerecorded show referenced the specific day on which it was recorded.

Like the Graham Norton Show where they pretend but not really 😁
Graham laughs into his cue cards and says ‘we can edit that out’ so not such a ‘secret’ as Strictly
It’s been said here numerously that it would be much better if they went back to the old days and gave the result out later on a Saturday evening - but I’m guessing that would mess too much with Dave Thorpe and his spoilers 😂

Danny was phenomenal and I doubt I’ll ever get tired of watching his dances back. He suited every single style of dance and you could see how much Oti adored dancing with him. Danny and Oti's partnership might just be my Roman Empire.

Yeah I can’t see a Layton hitting the DO till the semi final where he would take out maybe one of Ellie, Amanda, Angela S..

Absolutely my favourite of all time - he just looked so natural in everything he did. Still remember his first dance which was a cha cha cha to Cake By The Ocean and thinking 'wow, he is GOOD'!
