I do find it odd that the BBC allow some of the reveals to be made by non-BBC outlets: it’s their flagship show, it’s a huge undertaking in terms of organisation and expense, so letting naff ITV shows like Loose Women & This Morning take some of the spotlight seems odd. Unless the ITV shows are paying for the right to make certain announcements, I suppose 🤷‍♀️

Do ITV only announce ITV-contracted people?

Not really as Nina Wadia was announced on Lorraine last year and she’s more associated with BBC shows (Eastenders, Still Open All Hours, Goodness Gracious Me etc)

Thanks - that’s odd, then. I thought in some cases (like the Loose Women reveal), ITV might negotiate announcing ‘their’ stars as part of the contract.
 
I mean to be fair kiss fm is a bit of random radio station to be drawing from if it wasn’t for his other BBC work. It’s not the most mainstream of stations so the “who” and “barrel scraping” are quite understandable as I’m not sure there’s much crossover between your average kissfm listener and the average strictly viewer. I just hope he isn’t going to be super desperate for fame one that pops up every now and then. I’m sure he’ll be fine but I’ve got a few reservations.

Not the first time time they've booked a Kiss DJ though - Melvin Odoom presented the breakfast show when he was on Strictly (although he was first boot so not a shining example 😆)

He seems to have done quite a lot of stuff … just not stuff I’ve watched 😎

although I do like it when someone comes completely out of left field and takes the DS spoiler thread everyone by surprise.
 
Every video I have seen so far of Tyler he has taken his shirt off 😅 He's easy on the eye, but doesn't he know it. Kind of reminds me of Charles Venn when he was like here's something for the laydeez out there :LOL: Shirley won't be able to contain herself (as usual).

I think he has done quite well out of being first boot, possibly as he came across well and was so gracious about it. He’s now on radio 1 too and has done a lot of tv presenting since.

Just remembered the whole Anastasia controversy on that first dance off that was actually a dance off. I think that's probably why they brought him back for the Christmas special, to make amends a bit.

But yes, one of those times when being first boot didn't actually do him that much harm
