Really not that arsed about the Diana debacle tbh, it's not like she's calling her an entirely different name. It's just an extra syllable. Lots of pros have had their name mispronounced week after week. And I may not like Dianne but I'd say that if they were calling Katya Katie, for example.

Not a single soul has pronounced Giovanni's name correctly since the day he set foot in Elstree! I can only imagine how they are murdering 'Jowita' now..

i mean, it is an entirely different name though. i’m not out here calling you fillyjunk 🤣😉 it may be an extra syllable but it makes her name wrong and it’s rude af.

will admit i am sensitive about this, having a frequently mispronounced name myself, but dianne is easy enough to say and shirley should know better.

i appreciate that hamza at least makes a full effort to say it as yovita - she must cringe every time it’s said by anyone else though 🤦🏼‍♀️

Oh, people get my name wrong all the time too. I just feel people are reaching thinking it's anything deep.

Diane is a derivative of Diana btw, they're not different names.
 
Dianne didn't pick to be with a taller guy and is doing her best with him; when your with someone taller there is always going to be an inbalance and her comment was to show that their dancing in hold may look a little off. The pros have said themselves in their competing years that height is an important factor when looking for a partner for this very reason.

Dianne makes one comment and people loose their tit while nearly every week Nikita has been biting back about one thing or another :cautious:

Well, sorry, but what Dianne said was extremely tone deaf. She's a professional and it's her job to choreograph to make up for a "significant height difference" which Nikita has managed to do beautifully. He hasn't ever brought up the height difference either.

i’m not saying it’s deep but it’s still the wrong name. it being the some version of diana really is irrelevant - if i call someone named peter pierre, it’s still the wrong name and it’s still rude. i just think shirley should make more of an effort, it’s not the first time she’s called someone the wrong name and she’s done it to diane twice now.

but i get that we’re not going to agree though filly and that’s cool 🫡😘

Oh I agree it's not ideal for her to do and it's rude, I just don't buy into her intentionally getting the name wrong on purpose!

i thought it was tone deaf too. it must be incredibly difficult (and painful!) for nikita and he hasn’t mentioned in once. it’s not even a huge height different imo; certainly not compared to what others have had to deal with.

Aw, Adrian. Let's get him back for a full series, just to see his confused wee face when they try and make him do a Charleston.

In retrospect we should all have known Jowita was going to be an absolute megastar of a pro from the moment she managed to sweetly and gracefully tow Adrian around the dancefloor, like a tiny little tugboat easily guiding a cargo ship into safe harbour.
