Who could be the next Tom & Amy?

Strictly doesn't really go for controversial contestants so I guess we'll just need to rely on someone irritating.

Now this definitely needs to happen! I hope he gets the best of the women this year and can be in the final.

I can’t help but think it’ll be whoever Amy gets for some reason 😂! Put her and her starey giraffe eyes on the bench and give Luba a shot!

The one who comes in and thinks the Glitterball is theirs are often the most ‘entertaining’. But remember future contestants, if you don’t sign up for the tour, you ain’t winning…
 
Even better would be another Lulu & Brendan type partnership - never mind people who are annoying but just two who hate each other's guts. The icing on the cake would be if the couple slagged each other off when Tess does the "what would you like to say to each other?" line after elimination.

They need to decide on her and the other benched pros - either they stay in and get partners (and not first boots) or go. It feels a bit like there is a two-tier pro system.

I can't lie that I wasn't convinced by Luba's choreo for Jason (who I feel could have been good) so I'd say if she gets another partner that I hope he'd be a Dan Walker or Chris Ramsey type where there isn't high expectations but they can still go far - someone who will have a good run, improve a bit and an endearing partnership as opposed to an outright ringer. That worked for Nadiya.

When I read an interview with Chloe Hewitt a few years back (after she was not re-contracted to the show) she was asked what was she promised when she and AJ were asked to do strictly as she never had a partner on the main show. She said that what her and AJ were offered specifically was that they were hired on a 'part time' basis and they were told specifically they wanted them to be in the group numbers, help with ITT, possibly the christmas special and that was it. I'm guessing Neil was told the same as he was the other new pro who didn't have a partner who joined that year. Going into the pro rehearsals strictly then told AJ that they actually had an extra female celeb that year (Claudia Fragapane) and would he mind being partnered up with her and of course he said yes and the rest was history as that partnership went down well so much so he got a partner every year he was on it.

I'm guessing the same was probably told to Luba as well when she joined. I don't mind Luba getting a partner but from what I understand she is a 'part time dancer' and isn't 'owed' a partner really as harsh as that sounds for her fans but in the cold hard reality of what strictly have probably said to her they haven't sold her the chance to be a full time 'always getting a partner' pro.

I'm hoping Luba supporters don't come for me but she always seems a bit 'beggy' to me it terms of her attachment to the celebs. If you scroll back on her socials she has loads of pictures with the celebs from strictly long before the days when she was an official pro on the show (she used to dance on the strictly tours as an extra dancer like Jake Leigh and was a backing dancer on some of the numbers on strictly) and has been doing other pro's tours like Giovanni's and Kevin & Karens. Sort of reminds me of Janette in a way of trying to climb the totem poll which in a way you can't blame her for as Strictly is the biggest show for a dancer but it always just seems a bit inauthentic to me compared to other pros who have been surrounded by other celebs and you don't see their socials covered in pictures with them.

Nevertheless I wouldn't mind seeing her having another crack at the whip but with her not getting a partner in a year of tall men and now Nadiya's partnership going down well she may be benched again.......or maybe even dropped. Maybe Oti leaving this year could secure her a spot for now.

That’s really interesting, and explains why Neil especially has been ok with how things have gone. But then he has been given partners and so have Luba so it’s still always going to work out in the interests of the show.

It would be interesting to know if Jowita and Cameron were on a similar contract. I’ll be honest…I’m not falling over myself to see either of them with a partner.

Can you see Amy rapidly blinking as the red light goes on them again, teeth gritted and telling her face she doesn’t mind…

His programme was a tit show but he did a couple of stints doing GMB and he seemed like a different guy.

Seeing as I’m amongst friends, I can be honest and say I won’t truly settle until I see Richard Madeley in one of Anton’s old samba shirts. I’m starting to manifest it now.

Richard Madeley on Strictly would be classic! I can just imagine him being bottom of the leaderboard every week and getting voted through to Blackpool.

Thought he gave his one trial on IAC a good go though so who knows?

IMO Neil getting a partner was the result of him being on the show for 4 years up to that point and a momentum building of ''Will he ever get a partner?'' coupled with the fact there was the whole Katya/Seann scandal the year before so a lot of sympathy went his way. Him getting Alex was sort of seen as a ''sorry for this tit you've been through heres a partner for you''. Neil was never going to be benched this year over a young Cameron who is only 20. Jowita I feel like will be given a partner as she is the replacement Janette height wise; I can see her and Nancy swapping positions this year.

I feel like Luba was given 2 partners as a ''she's paid her dues for a good while now'' however will never be put before another pro who has always had a partner.

I reckon Jowita will get a partner - last year was an anomaly with the heights. They always had someone really short for Janette (and her celebs almost always were in the better half of the men on paper).

Would have been interesting to see what would have happened had Janette stayed as a pro. Height wise, I reckon she'd have got Robert and then Dianne with Rhys meaning Nancy would have stayed on the bench. Could be wrong but I couldn't have seen her with a 6'0+ celeb.

Jowita was fine dancing with Adrian Chiles at Christmas. He is 6ft. I think people read too much into the height thing.
 
Taking the piss out of Tom should be a national holiday each year.

I must say, I am now wondering if nothing dramatic has happened between AJ and Kai and that he’s actually just a bit of an arse in general. I appreciate he can’t do right for doing wrong and that the press/ KJ obsessives will scrutinise all of his actions but his birthday post was half hearted at best and even his post for Maisie on the tour had little to no genuine feeling surrounding it. I’m wondering if either 1) nadiya is cracking the whip or 2) he’s actually just lacking a little self awareness and emotion as are most 26 year old men. Fantastic dancer regardless!

Or 3) completely knackered and overwhelmed at the tit show his first series turned into because of obsessive people?

I don’t think he owes anyone anything. Unless it can be shown he misled AJ or hurt her then I’m thinking he hasn’t done anything wrong 🤷🏻‍♀️. He’s worked with Maisie for about 6 weeks! Or he was maybe apprehensive to go over the top in case idiots turned on her like they did on Nadiya.

I wouldn’t jump to the conclusion that a grown woman and mother would stop her partner of 5 minutes from wishing someone the happy birthday they want to on IG!!
