Something I read in the DS Appreciation thread got me thinking. One poster's reasoning for thinking Kai and Nadiya called the paps on themselves - despite it bringing them mostly bad publicity - is that A-listers like Beyonce rarely ever have anything embarrassing about them turn up in the press so it must be easy to avoid paps if you're a minor celebrity (I would say that's it's more likely because A-listers can pay to make most things they don't like go away.)

Do people who think Nadiya and/or Kai called the paps to take a blurry shot of their 0.5 second long peck, think that the Katya and Seann thing was set up and/or released on purpose by someone too?

Interesting! I wouldn't say that they are definitely not calling the paps, as there are clearly paps they work with, as several of the pros have tagged them in pics. But I guess I'd say I don't think that makes their romance fake (and the kiss pic did look like a long lens thing and prob not the way they wanted to announce that they are together).

Also, as you say, it is clearly massively easier for paps to find them on tour, when they know what hotel they will be in. In the off-season, much harder, apart from events with photocalls and staged shots (I defo remember Nadiya staging one at Gola last summer).
But eg nobody had much clue about Gio and Maura till they went public, so someone like him can clearly keep a low profile and avoid paps easily if they want to.

I think the kJ fans are just annoyed it’s not Kai and Aj kissing. No matter who he was with they would mock them. No matter how classy the kiss they would sneer.
The photos were awful quality you could hardly see who was with who. Papped shots are normally better quality and the involved parties are smartly dressed/made up.

Definitely this. If you're going to call the paps and set something up, you would tell them where to get a good shot.

It seems more likely to me that certain KJ fans want to believe that Kai and Nadiya's relationship isn't real and that Nadiya is desperate to be in the press while poor corrupted miserable Kai secretly pines for AJ who is busy discovering the meaning of life, saving the world and finding a cure for cancer.

Yes, I find it very hard to believe they wanted to announce themselves as a couple with a photo as bad as that. At first I didn't even think it was Kai. But if say, the backpack was included to make it look like they weren't set-up shots, their plan worked on me, because I don't think they look set up.

but yeah, you're right, it is definitely possible for celebs to keep things secret from the public. The lead actor and actress from The 100 announced they were married, without anyone in the fandom (and The 100 fandom has plenty of loony stalker types) even knowing they'd been dating.

I don't know if it appeared in the papers or not, though a reverse image search tells me the only place it appears on the internet is the DS Appreciation thread. The ATers are puzzling over why they wanted the paps to shoot them kissing, but now they won't walk down the street without whacking Neil in between them. I'd say it's another thing that points to them probably not enjoying the tabloids breathing down their necks.

Totally agree, if I walked past her in the street I would 100% assume she was famous, probably a model or singer.

She really does look smoking hot here! I wonder if she keeps her love life under wraps now to avoid negative press, or if after Neil and Sean² she's a bit grossed out. Either that or the tabloids are right and she's back with Neil but understandably is a bit ashamed to admit it.
