I feel out on a limb here. I never watch the pros part in the dance, I know very few of their names, don’t read their social media, and I don’t watch ITT. I tune in on a Saturday, and watch the contestants dance, but never vote unless I think someone is fantastic. The last time would be in 2015, for Jay. Perhaps that’s why I get annoyed about the inconsistent voting, because the actual dancing is all I am interested in. Well, that’s not quite true, I love a pretty dress.

I think Shirley’s Gin-Fuelled Fever Dream Week might benefit Tony, Ellie T, and Jayde in the sense that they’re the ones I’d trust most to deliver with utterly bonkers songs/theming/costumes - just as long as Jayde leans into her comedian side and puts in a decent enough dance. James and Kym, the other lower/mid table dancers, will struggle a bit more I think, because looking here and on Twitter, it seems that the viewers are looking for sheer insanity this week. I don’t think a super serious dance to the bloody Casualty theme would work - you need to be able to ham it up and I can’t see James/Kym pulling that off in the way Tony/Ellie/Jayde could.

Nikita might be my favourite male pro (posting this quickly before I think of someone else!). Specifying male because overall my heart belongs to Jowita. Gio has been my favourite since his first year, but the Richie stuff has left a bad taste in my mouth.

Wasn't quick enough - just remembered Graz! Hope he gets a likeable, not-too-ringery-ringer next year.

I'm advance cringing for Gorka and Helen and their twee little BP Charleston.

Molly is great and Carlos is fiiiiiiiiiiire but their CC really is just going to be a rehash of Nikita's Matilda dance last year.

Not much of the training footage looks very good.

I think only Tony and Ellie T will purely lean into the cringe.

Hamza giving Jowita the very polite side eye was hilarious. (I don't think people who work with wildlife anthropomorphise animals as much as the general population. I think they are very much "That's an animal, it should be doing animal things, please don't put a glittery coat on it and carry it around in a pram so it doesn't get muddy") Not that Hamza would dream of saying anything that, the lovely polite chap that he is!

On the subject of tomorrow...I have a large bag of M&S chocolate buttons to help me through the carnage of a Casualty Tango, a Blue Peter Charleston and whatever other horrors are in store.

Might need a gin too. Especially when the poor Strictly Singers have to attempt the Victoria Wood song.
